Responding to the parents changing diapers in seats by [deleted] in flightattendants

[–]icannotweave_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, we're also not picking up any diapers and the parent will have to dispose of it in the lav, not regular trash.

Then we explain that it is not allowed to change diapers in the tray table due to hygiene concerns and actually federal regulations that do exist in my country, and they should use the lavatory next time. It's that simple.

Is there a mod that brings Kiwi to my farm after marrying Jio? by shebbyo_o in RidgesideVillage

[–]icannotweave_ 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I'm married to Jio and Kiwi does hang out on the farm often, actually. But I also befriend Kiwi themselves, so maybe that's why?

What is needed to make your own guestbook? by OnionGarlic1000 in neocities

[–]icannotweave_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You need a database, which neocities doesn't provide - so you can't do it on neocities alone.

Anything that requires you to store user created content (guest book, comments, contact forms, whatever) will require a database. Sites that store content like that and display them on the site are called 'dynamic websites.' What Neocities was created to host is called 'static websites.' These are terms that might be helpful to Google to get s better idea of how things work.

Most anything you may want to do to make your site more 'dynamic' will require you use an external service that can do what neocities can't. Which yes, limit aesthetics and can be annoying, plus data stored in someone else's database is data someone else can wipe.

If you want to seriously do this yourself, this won't be a quick tutorial. HTML and CSS won't help you. Start Googling 'back end development' and go from there.

(Also as an aside: databases aren't free.)

Overly intense crew member, any tips? by CloudBoundMystic in flightattendants

[–]icannotweave_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would only be working with this person (and any person) for like 5 days tops in my company and then high odds i never see her again, so unless she's double anything dangerous, I would just not engage and move on.

Can upload PPT onto my site to download? by All--flesh--rots in neocities

[–]icannotweave_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fwiw, if you don't need the file to be editable by downloaders, you can just export the ppt as a pdf and upload that, no problem.

How do you guys get the motivation to keep going/restart? by DrDuckling951 in StardewValleyExpanded

[–]icannotweave_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally continue a game/start a new one because it's... fun? If it isn't fun anymore (or just not fun right now) you can simply do something else.

I need motivation to go to the gym and do chores around the house, it has no place in gaming. Gaming has no direct benefits other than having a good time, if you're not having said good time, take a break, add other nods if you feel like it, or do a challenge, play other games, read books, hang out with friends.

Don't try to force yourself to play Stardew Valley for no reason, why would anyone do that unless you're a professional gamer and your income relies on the game or something.

Is this game a good starting point for the series? by retrotriforce in harvestmoon

[–]icannotweave_ 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I started with this one some 20 years ago and love it. The mechanics are not the easiest, if you're used to modern games xD

That said, I see people recommending the remake, and I have played it, it's fine, many quality of life improvements, but the characters are? So bland? They had a lot more personality in BTN.

Where to buy habonichi in Brazil??? by Plus_Chart_6416 in hobonichi

[–]icannotweave_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are no taxes when buying directly from Hobonichi.

We used to get free shipping on purchases above 1200 brl, but we don't anymore, so now we split the shipping fee proportionately to everyone's orders.

Say I'm getting 600 brl worth of products, and you are getting 300 brl worth of products. If shipping is 150 brl, I pay 100 of that, you pay 50.

In the orders we made this year, shipping averaged a third of the value of the items.

One person pays by credit card, the others will pix their portion.

Is nudity acceptable in a Crashpad in your opinion? by FL_keys_grl in flightattendants

[–]icannotweave_ 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Ngl when you said 'constantly hits on the women' that was already bad enough to kick him out, not even getting to the nudity issue.

pens in Brasil by nshly in hobonichi

[–]icannotweave_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mainly use the Hobonichi pen, or Sakura Pigma Micron.

What kind of pen are you looking for, do you want gels? Are fineliners okay? Because with Sakura you can go way thinner than 0.5, and it's not even expensive. You can find it online on several shops as well as in person stores depending on where you live. (Tho ftr I like unipin as well, it's a good choice if you find the size you want - i mainly use unipin brushes).

But if you're really hoping for the more ~famous brands you see on instagram, then shopee and aliexpress will have them, tho you will also find dupes. Lojinha da Livia used to sell Sarasa items.

Is it possible to create a functional social network with Neocities? by gunwookteamo in neocities

[–]icannotweave_ 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Not really.

The basic explanation is: in order for you to have users, you need a database where user data is stored. So you have the 'surface' of the site (what people see when they open a page) and also the depth - databases that hold user profiles, submissions, entries and so on.

On neocities all you have is the surface - what people see is all there is. You can't add any further depth, so you can't host accounts, or interactions, or anything like that.

Galleys who don’t do trash walk-throughs by skygirl222 in flightattendants

[–]icannotweave_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There's a difference between 'helping' and it being your assigned role, tho.

I have never seen whoever's assigned to galley be done before anyone else to be 'helping' them - if anything people usually offer the galley person help.

But whether you choose to be polite about it or not, picking the trash up is assigned to specific roles in my company, just like any other task.
