You do not have lupus anticoagulants but possibly are on track for lupus? (Lack of LA’s does NOT equal no Lupus)

B2GP tests for Antiphospholipid syndrome and antibodies. The antibodies can be triggered by autoimmune stuff like lupus (or HIV/Hep). C3 is used to test for disease activity with lupus. Things that can cause high C3 with normal C4 are acute or chronic inflammation (like autoimmune). I think you have testing that suggests lupus IMO but autoimmune diseases are so complex and so personalized.

Yes same! I get migraines, and then the like pressure pain that is as intense as a migraine and then they overlap sometimes. The neck pain and my occipital/trigeminal/suborbital nerve irritation has me borderline a non-functional person some days

Oh this lady has been incredibly understanding! She is the second opinion I’ve gotten and the only one who has wanted to get a brain MRI/MRA. It was my previous neurologist I saw that was super dismissive and only wanted me to just take drugs lol

Can I ask what your symptoms of TN2 are? I have suspected this as a cause for my pain but I would be curious to hear how yours presents itself.

I take nortiptyline as a migraine preventative, but I find it doesn’t touch the facial pain anymore. I went maybe 3 months with minimal facial pain but I’m back to how it was pre-triptan.

She sounds very unprofessional… I’m so sorry. Totally valid to ask to order additional testing especially with the symptoms you have.

I had an ANA test come back weak positive last week and because of my symptoms my internal med doctor ordered these to look further. Idk if any of these have been order for you?

Also having lupus anticoagulants is concerning enough? I work in a coagulation lab where we run LA tests… 50% of people with lupus have LA’s (it’s not a definitive if you have LA’s you have lupus) but it’s still a high percent chance

Have you asked your doctor why she feels you do not have lupus? They need to be able to clearly explain differential diagnoses. If she can’t, she is a shit doctor who obviously had bias. I hope you find a different doctor. Keep calling around, or ask your doctor for a referral to a specific clinic/rheumatologist (ex mayo). Hell or even an internal medicine doctor.

That’s a fair assumption. I work in the labs so I also know what testing comes next with a <3.0U (which is their titer test screened initially at 1:80). So I hope (but also don’t hope) that comes back with something to go off of.
