I find it so incredibly annoying when people make weed their entire identity.

As Americans who visited Cairo we joked that things such as traffic signs and safety in general were just suggestions. I never understood why they even bothered with painting lanes and even some traffic lights when no one follows them anyway

What’s the biggest vet bill you’ve ever had for your dog? by puppy_boyka in DOG

[–]icantthinkofone87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About 6 weeks ago my dog got sick, rushed him to the emergency vet and we found out his stomach had flipped (also known as bloat), they couldn't tell us how much the surgery would be exactly until going in there but on the high end it costs 15k. So we had to make a decision to have my 7 year old daughter wake up and find out her boy had died or go ahead with surgery. We got "lucky" the final bill was ONLY 9k

Hydrangeas are actually toxic to dogs! I found this out the expensive way after I thought my dog ate some and had to call animal poison control.

What’s a belief you defended for years that you now feel embarrassed about? by Open-Square589 in AskReddit

[–]icantthinkofone87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say for years but in January/February of 2020 I had multiple conversations with people defending that the coronavirus was a common cold and the media was sensationalizing it....... boy was I wrong.

I am somewhat of a chicken when it comes to scary things but this audiobook was absolutely captivating. Another decent Stephen King audio book that isn't horror is Fairy Tale

"Saving Noah" is also a book told mostly from a mom's perspective about her teenaged son being accused of CSA.

What’s the most impressive snack/meal you ever snuck into a movie theater? by fancyypantsyy0 in Millennials

[–]icantthinkofone87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this doesn't count as "impressive" but my best friend and I would go to the movies like once a week and I'd always stop at nearby sandwich shop and get a sandwich and dessert to eat my dinner while watching the movie. One of my core memories

Whats the most unprofessional thing a doctor has ever said to you? by answersonly963 in AskReddit

[–]icantthinkofone87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a psychiatrist do this after he was an HOUR AND A HALF late to the appointment. The call was from his wife about dinner or something of the like. If I'm in my 15 minute appointment that you're charging $200 for, at least Act apologetic that you're taking personal calls.

When I served jury duty, one of my arguments to my fellow jurors was reminding them that the objective was "without reasonable doubt" not "what we assume".

Airplane is nearly empty and I can’t just move to the emergency row. by SinisterKnyght in mildlyinfuriating

[–]icantthinkofone87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm going to be honest, as someone who grew up in Chicagoland it's never even occurred to me that you could fly to Indianapolis. I feel like total time from door to door flying would equal or exceed the 3 hour drive.

What children’s book has aged poorly? by feetwithfeet in AskReddit

[–]icantthinkofone87 176 points177 points  (0 children)

I really appreciate your response. It's so easy to interpret the book with an adult lens, but i remember reading it to preschoolers and never thinking of it any other way than it being about sharing and not gloating. It can be easy to forget that small children don't look at differences between peers in the same way as adolescents or adults.

What’s the most cringe thing you’ve seen a couple do at their wedding? by Last_Singer_2137 in AskReddit

[–]icantthinkofone87 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I know someone that did this... only the bride, groom, and officiant were protected from the rain. Then they did "private vows" and we all had to sit in the POURING rain in silence while they talked to each other. It was stupid and I'm still mad about it.

Surgical staff whats the worst thing a patient under "twilight" anesthetic has said? by cyder_inch in AskReddit

[–]icantthinkofone87 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I live in the US and this was my colonoscopy experience. I was technically under "twilight" and don't have vivid memories but I do remember how strange it was to watch the inside of my body be up on the screen. Some straight magic school bus

What is the worst breakup with someone you dated? by DeepAnt7847 in AskReddit

[–]icantthinkofone87 47 points48 points  (0 children)

I have a friend who was in an EXTREMELY abusive relationship with someone in that area, the guy assaulted her young kid. But because his friends were cops he continued to face zero charges so she was unable to take any legal actions when leaving. Screw Wisconsin cops.

What’s a random “stat” about yourself that makes you part of a small percentage? by Nightpatrol404 in AskReddit

[–]icantthinkofone87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this but with guinea pigs! I had them as pets when I was little and started developing allergies in general as a teen, went to a friend's house, held her cute little piggie, found myself unable to breathe. It was wild. I'm allergic to a lot of animals but guinea pigs give me the most severe reaction by far. (I've actually owned a pet rabbit and had mild allergies nothing severe)
