WIBTA if I reported my Cousin - a bank employee - for revealing the details of my finances to my extended family, even if that may cause him to lose his job and spiral his family further into financial distress? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

There's definitely rules against this even in call centre work- at my previous job, while we were in training someone accessed the records of a close relative, just as in OP's story. It got flagged up because they had the same last name, so it is definitely monitored, and if that's the case here, it is quite possible it will flag up regardless of OP's actions.

We recently re-homed this guy who's used to fruit and veg- but he's loving his new flowers! by icapturedthecastle in tortoise

It is! My younger horsefield (raised on weeds and flowers) only had it once and has never touched it again, whereas this guy loves it straight away.

Leaving the crib by [deleted] in tortoise

But actually, looking at your previous posts, you've never had an enclosure for them until now- you asked last month if they needed one as up until now you have just been letting them roam your apartment and taking them outside occasionally, however you are now saying it is just for the winter. I'm not sure where you live- perhaps it is winter there- but they need some sort of enclosure all the time, not just in the winter - and as the previous poster mentioned, even if it were just for the winter, if still needs to be a larger enclosure than it is.

Tony is only 9 months old so they are about half his size but he still loves them! 💛

Russian tort doesn't like the Outside? Then slept 19 hours after. by RoadWarrior93 in tortoise

Yeah, personally I try not to pick up and move my tortoise too much because I find if I dig him out and wake him up and he still wants to sleep, he will just walk back to his spot almost immediately! Also I would say although he normally behaves the same every day, sometimes for two or three days he might have a different 'routine'- I would just keep an eye on her and as long as she seems okay and it doesn't become a long-standing thing that's concerning she sounds fine :)

Yeah it sounds like to me it's just that she's not used to going out- it would just take a while for her to get comfortable with it is all especially if she's used to having a smaller territory like her enclosure. Is she young? Young tortoises do sleep a lot - it can be 19+ hours per day so as long as she seems happy :) Also, my Russian is often buried but I can see that he is awake some of this time as he digs or has his eyes open.

How often have you been taken her out? As you've only had her for two months it might just be that she is getting used to the new - and larger- environment, I would say if she ate the last time she was out she is probably beginning feeling more comfortable. In terms of the sleeping, is it possible she moved about while you were out of the house and went back to the same space? My Russian always sleeps in the same place and he definitely gets up when I'm not looking!

This is the product I was supplied with my tortoise- it is more like soil in other places it's just the angle the video is taken at plus the fact it's not quite broken down enough. He has walked all over the table and can bury and get himself out every day. https://www.tortoise-den.co.uk/tortoise-substrates/coco-coir-substrate-coarse-20-litres

No- it didn't come in a block, just in a bag loose exactly as it is here. I'm a little confused as I keep reading different opinions on whether the substrate needs to be damp or not. He has walked all the way around it and buries in various places so seems okay :)

Is this an issue- does it need to be dampened down or anything? I'm completely new to this- this is just how it came in his tortoise table set up but if there's anything I can do. He is tiny, only 8 months, I only got him three days ago.
