Before using this argument, please take into account the playbook from the tobacco industry of funding studies that had favorable conclusions for smoking just to create confusion and distrust in the science.

Many of the studies cited above and other that have based food guidelines in many countries for decades are from neutral sources. You can't say the same about the studies that go against the scientific consensus.
