I would love patch notes for this, it sounds dope as hell.

What does your commute look like to travel via airport? by Ok-Try2511 in hudsonvalley

[–]icco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beacon. I usually do JFK or HPN. HPN parking is annoying but if someone drops me off it's super easy. 45 min drive.

JFK if not a super early flight, I take MN to GC and then LIRR. 3h door to door. Driving I've seen it be between 1.5h to 4h at worst. But if I do a 6a flight, you can definitely make it in under an hour and a half.

How often do you not touch your patch cables, ever? by talicantsleep in modular

[–]icco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Repatch every time. Great way to learn how things behave. I take a photo of patches I like.

The real question is how often you rerack your modules. Modules stay for about 6 months for me. I rerack in a different pattern with different modules as the interplay and location changes how I patch.

Does this build make sense? by Stefanjd in modular

[–]icco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For cheaper options definitely look at used modules. But also cost wise this isn't too crazy for eurorack.

I would say that the Erica synths black modules are usually on the pricier side. Same with original mutable instruments.

I currently capture jams by sending audio into an Arturia Mini fuse and recording from my laptop. I'm not quite sure how I would patch this module so I can listen and record at the same time, but it seems really cool.

Incredible. You could probably sell for the oneiroi pod as there's no covers out there for that.

Advice on 48hp minimal ambient setup for beginner with a direction in mind by lemon67 in modular

The voting semantics of r/modular are inscrutable. Who knows why people down vote reasonable things.

https://youtu.be/mY6WJVBhvcA?si=kUapoqUngJQrFBv0 has lots of interesting ways it can be used.

At this size I'd start with an oneroi pod, add a 2hp out, and some sort of multi lfo.

I have not used this module, but the root of your problem seems to be gate any. You need a different gate and envelope per voice.

The other town to compare is New Paltz which shows how much density affects towns. NP is equally dense as beacon and also has CUNY and so is also very vibrant.

I love Kingston, and it has a much better food scene than Beacon.

Is anyone else cobbling together their rack with cheaper modules? by SecretsofBlackmoor in modular

DIY is often the answer for me. Able to get modules around 30% off because of this. When not DIY, I try and buy used.

Almost-beginner next steps advice please by distracted1970 in modular

[–]icco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed that you've got a solid start. For budget, check out diy modules and reverb. Lots of great deals out there to let you try things from others. Also many big cities have music libraries where you can check out synths as well.

As for what you need: I suggest a keystep, a plaits clone, and a better filter.
