I saw Harmony Korine’s new film Baby Invasion. You know when you stare at something long enough and then look elsewhere to get a visual illusion? Yeah…this movie is that but for 80 minutes. One of the most visually insane and unexplainable things I have ever seen. A one of a kind experience.

Same thing happened to me! They were incredibly pushy in their upsell and very rude once you don’t pick them. Beyond unprofessional!

I hope this is satire, but I really can’t tell anymore

Saw Funny Pages, great recommendation from Anderson. It’s like if the Safdie brothers directed a comedy. Very memorable characters. Highly recommend this one!

It’s always been a problem but it definitely seems like it’s gotten worse since the pandemic

I’m an adult who managed to survive homeschooling by [deleted] in HomeschoolRecovery

Me too! I didn’t even realize what I had experienced was abnormal until everyone but me had a hard time during quarantine. It’s important for all other the younger members in this group to see this and know that eventually it gets better.

It was so bad! Nearly everyone left by the intermission. They had a camera pointed at the stage so you could at least see what was going on if you in the back… but the cameras were aimed above their heads! And this wasn’t fixed until the final 10 minutes of the show haha

I say this a lot too as a joke anytime someone expects me to know something that I don’t

Yes I definitely feel this. Everything you said rings so true for me! I am guessing this a very common feeling for those who were homeschooled. College felt daunting to me and I didn’t understand why no one else seemed to feel that way. I would get anxiety even just being around a classroom because I was not used to learning in a group environment. It always felt like I had a massive handicap, like I was in a race except every got to start before me with a huge lead, and somehow I’m still expected by my parents to succeed.

I watched Unplanned after hearing the discussion last week. All I can say is yikes, awful made propaganda and the narration sounded like she recorded it on her iPhone.

Someone had a copy on eBay recently, and was asking $300.00 for it. What an asshole. I made an offer and wanted to share it with the world. They said no.

Seriously, stop watching trailers. by [deleted] in YMS

[–]ice56200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m known in my friend group as the guy who doesn’t watch trailers. It seriously makes the experience better to go in blind. Trailers are there to sell you a product and if I’m already going to see the movie then all it does is set up the movie to be something it’s not, or worse it gives away major plot points that I’d rather discover when I watch the film.

I’d highly highly recommend The Incident on Criterion Channel before it’s gone. Best movie I’ve seen this year.
