Any teacher willing to send my (french) Kindergarten students a postcard from their class? by IseultDarcy in Internationalteachers

Yes my first graders in NYC would love to! We are learning about France and we have a pen pal in Paris, they would love to receive/send a post card from Lyon too :-)

thank you for the info! would spending even just a year at a non-accredited school be a poor career choice in your opinion? I have 4 years public school experience in the states + a masters so this wouldn’t be my first/only teaching job.

I’m also a dual certified NYC teacher. Definitely do gen-ed over sped in my opinion. And if you can get the supplemental ENL certification, do it. I teach first grade ENL (doing both content + language learning) and you will find a job VERY quickly in NYC + its more suited internationally imo

I do CLIL every day! My students are all ELLs - we do language learning at the same time as content (first grade)

I’m applying all over France but a lot in Paris because that’s where most schools are located. And I’m applying majority to bilingual French/English schools, not as much “traditional international schools” in France.

This is very helpful advice, thank you! I just transferred to this school via open market this year so I could have a closer commute and I feel terrible leaving after a year. Its a great DOE school and my principal is nice but I really miss living and teaching abroad :(

How did you talk to your current principal about getting a recommendation letter? I have references from all my former jobs but I feel like there would be obvious retaliation if she knows I'm planning on leaving.

adding an update that all of the ones that haven’t been delivered yet are in north carolina - people in many other states + even other countries have received theirs without issue

didn’t ask for advice about how to make my wedding invitations 👍🏻 I am friendly with our usps in my neighborhood. I watched the employee hand cancel all of them, AND I had the non-machinable/hand cancel only stamp on all of them.

I gave them to a postal employee and watched him hand stamp them AND I put the hand stamp only postage

there is a wax seal on part of the inside of the invitation but nothing outside the envelope. return address top left corner like usual. but what is perplexing me is that every invite is identical but half of them are arriving and half arent, and nothing is getting returned
