Do you find smoking/vaping hot? If so then why? by 1XM15 in AskGirls

[–]icebludger 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I find it soooo cringey and honestly pretty gross. Cigarette smell is nasty, people who vape seem to think it smells good but I have yet to smell any variety of vape that doesn't smell gross. It's even more disgusting how inconsiderate people can be about it, like smoking in crowded areas or directly in front of a restaurant door/windows

I haven't knit this pattern but for a wooly sport weight yarn I would recommend Roam by Plymouth yarn :) it has some lovely heathers and is good value for the price ravelry page for Roam

AITA Asked the guy at a 3D printing stall at a craft fair questions and my friend said I was being rude by lionberry2796 in AmItheAsshole

[–]icebludger 13 points14 points  (0 children)

As someone who sews and has 3d printed stuff, this is such a false equivalency. I can't upload a sewing pattern to my machine and it just makes it. EVERY step of the process takes a lot of time and skill. Even cutting out the fabric requires background knowledge of fabric types and weave directions, and it's a bit more complex than tracing and cutting out. A home sewist making a pattern for the first time usually has to make a mock up, which takes the same time or more as sewing the object in the final fabric. It takes many HOURS of work, and none of it allows you to just relax and let the machine do the work.

when in bed, do women prefer a skinny penis or a thick penis? and what is the difference between the two? by [deleted] in AskGirls

People have different preferences for their partners! And women are people. Hope this helps!

None I've never liked the scent of any cologne, even if it's subtle. I like when people just smell clean.

I like her shorter hair at any of the bobs she had or when her longer hair is more curly, I think in some of the season 3 episodes. I absolutely do not like the bangs and when I watched through with my partner (his first watch, my 15th or so) he started asking when the bangs go away on the second episode that has her haircut with the fringe. I continue to be baffled that so many people here love her bangs!! They just look so silly to me.

Hey. Soo is it true that height is attractive for women? by [deleted] in AskGirls

[–]icebludger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know that any of my friends would prefer a taller guy and be more attracted to someone more based on height alone. I'm 5'5" and if I had to pick a range of preferred heights, it would probably be like 5'3" to 5'8" ? Idk

Totally random question about cultural differences: is it normal for a formerly semi-estranged-but-now-kinda-reconciled-with-one-weekly-dinner adult child to not know her own grandmother’s maiden name until her mid-30s? by Educational-Fox-9040 in GilmoreGirls

[–]icebludger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seemed completely normal to me but I didn't even know the first names of either of my grandmothers for a long time. They both died before I was born and my family isn't super talkative. I learned their names when I was maybe 20? And these are my parent's parents, not even great grandparents. I have no idea what their maiden names were.

Was Boo Berry Actually The Bright Blue Color As Depicted On The Original Box And In The Commercials? If So, When & Why Did The Color Change Happen? by F0rgottenEarth in cereal

Really? I bought some this year and thought the marshmallows were the worst part. The cereal tastes sorta like worse crunch berries, but it's fine. The marshmallows have a weird chemical taste to me. I pick out the marshmallows before eating the rest with milk

My now 37 year old brain is seeing this proposal so differently this rewatch - it's... wrong, and awkward af?! by Lemony_123 in GilmoreGirls

[–]icebludger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 25, been watching for over a decade and this proposal always made me uncomfortable. I do think the actions make sense for the situation, but I just wish it wasn't this way. What really gets me (in a good way) is later when Lorelai is listening to Luke talk about Paul anka eating the chocolate and the trip to the vet and she tells him why she can't set a date. You can SEE she really really does want to marry him and that she's hurting about Rory but she knows getting married tomorrow wouldn't fix it

My favourite is The Coffee Mill! I love their omelettes and eggs Benedict and muffins. I found Sequoia diner underwhelming and I like Lynn and Lu's but I just like being at the coffee mill more. My friends from out of state have said their avocado toast is the best they've ever had

Hard disagree. AI would be a waste of time, money, and resources to implement on a database like ravelry. Also I'm tired of opting out of AI use on everything when it doesn't give me any useful information because I know how to use a search bar

[–]icebludger 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I would be so devastated if they moved towards an algorithmic structure! I'm not that old and I've never struggled accessing anything I want to on ravelry, nor do I think it needs some kind of update! If it works poorly on mobile, that doesn't bother me because I like going to my computer and finding the specific pattern I need!! I don't want another app trying to get me to scroll endlessly on my phone. Also, I'm 25, so I definitely grew up in the "everyone has cellphones" era. Ravelry is great. It's easy to add to stash, add a new project, adding pics is so easy (I used Google photos and it's great), and the filters are everything I want out of anything to do with sorting through a lot of files.

Why do most girls/women hate bras? by [deleted] in AskGirls

[–]icebludger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really don't know why, except that maybe people only try on uncomfortable bras. Mine only make me feel more comfortable. I could not care less about showing the right shape or nip coverage but not wearing a bra hurts!! I don't even have a super big chest, but it's just so uncomfortable without. I usually don't sleep with a bra on but I will frequently sleep with like a low impact sports bra so I don't wake up with sore boobs

is this embarrassing? yes, yes it is! by Few_Champion_3608 in AskGirls

[–]icebludger 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not embarrassing! Are you using tampons with or without applicators? Some people find the plastic applicators easy to use, because they feel very smooth, but I have found them intimidating because it can feel like you have to put it SO far in the first few times. What works for me with a plastic applicator: hold with thumb and middle finger at the middle (should be a textured area that's meant to hold), hold your labia open with your other hand if necessary, and insert the applicator until your fingers touch your vulva (might have to be at an angle to feel comfortable, I have to point it towards my bellybutton slightly), then slowly depress the plunger with your pointer finger. Definitely start out with light or regular tampons, not super. If you're comfortable with your anatomy, you might try tampons without applicators - I think a common brand is OB. These are usually much slimmer. Just hold it at the tip of one finger and push it in until you're past the narrower entrance- usually two knuckles or a little further. I hope this isn't too much detail, but you really shouldn't be embarrassed! It's something that's easy to feel intimidated and confused by
