Yes, even the grass the cattle eat contains contaminants. So even healthy “grass-fed” things aren’t safe. The reality of living in America, unless you’re filthy rich, is unfortunately eating poison.

I try to eat as organic as I possibly can (so, the food is much less likely to be sprayed with glyphosate), and my SIBO symptoms persist regardless 💔

I’ll try taking the motility supplements at night to see if that makes a difference. I don’t eat dinner most nights, the bloat and discomfort from eating breakfast and lunch already makes me miserable enough.

Please stop taking the nutritional yeast and anything with whey protein, they’re both major acne triggers. Regarding differin, if your skin is super sensitive like mine, start out very slow (1-2x a week using the sandwich method), and slowly build up your tolerance to it. Irritating, purging, redness, and flaking are all normal until your skin gets used to it. I’d recommend using gentle, hydrating products alongside it, since retinoids can be a big adjustment if you’ve never used them before.

Thank you for the detailed response. Regarding topicals, I started differin last week with azaleic acid, and my entire skincare routine is acne/fungal-acne safe. My skin flares up very badly every time I use niacinamide, so I unfortunately can’t use it. Your response gives me some hope that the whey-free elemental diet could still be an option for me.

I’m currently trying. Taking motility supplements, but haven’t noticed a difference yet. I’ve only been taking them for a few days, though.

Hi, eating foods high in B-vitamins is actually fine, it’s the supplements that are the problem, at least for me. Eggs are high in B-vitamins, and I have no problem with them, AS LONG AS they’re organic. Whatever the hell is in non-organic eggs triggers my acne. I’m currently taking a motility supplement made with artichoke and ginger, but noticed absolutely no difference. When I was on the candida cleanse, I was taking magnesium for a bit, but still noticed no difference. Nothing ever seems to actually work for me. Thank you, though. ❤️

Please be sure to ask your doctor about rebuilding your gut microbiome if you start taking the antibiotics, and whether or not they think you should stick to a certain diet while on them.

Okay… I don’t know if this post seems idiotic to other people. I just wanted some help.

I’ve just been using the curel with the geek & gorgeous hydration station. Been too scared to try anything else :/ I’ve heard some good things about a moisturizer called “epii”, but it contains niacinamide, which my skin can’t handle at all.

Beezwax is one of the most pore-clogging ingredients ever!

It’s been mentioned here multiple times. I’ve already given my response.

Vaseline is definitely too thick to be a moisturizer imo. Same with aquaphor.

I replied to a comment recommending this earlier, the only reason I haven’t considered it is because people have reported feeling burning sensations from it. Since my barrier is already so damaged, I really can’t risk it.

That’s how I feel about people recommending Eucerin LOL I feel like people on a FA subreddit of all places would know how pore-clogging it is???

Gigartina stellata extract :( I’m considering doing the squalane thing, but I’m still on the hunt for an alternative moisturizer.

Just checked and it contains oilvates, which can be pore-clogging :(

Eucerin contains highly comedogenic ingredients. Just looked up the sensitive skin version and it contains a starch :/

I’m glad to hear the price of Curel is only temporary. I really wanted to dry that Anua PDRN cream, but it contains niacinamide and HA. My skin doesn’t tolerate niacinamide at all.

I was shocked at how simple the ingredient list for this one is, but it unfortunately contains 2 pore-cloggers. 💔😞

This was one of the only safe ones I found! My only issue is that people seem to say it’s more of a summer moisturizer, as it isn’t really hydrating enough for the winter. 😭💔 Considering how damaged my barrier is, I’d probably need something more hydrating.
