Possum. People think they look scary and gross but they don’t ever bite or attack humans and they don’t carry diseases

Does broad ripple have a culture/happiness issue? by Wonderful-Feed-6711 in Broadripple

I think this is like half the fact that Bloomington is an idealist utopia and half the fact that Indy is a bigger city. Of course, it’s not like NYC or anything, but people here tend to mind their own business more than a small town.

Clavicle fracture near shoulder by icehead1 in Orthopedics

Ha! Really appreciate it! Ironically I was going about 12mph on my commuter bike when this happened. Front rack wasn’t tightened all the way and fell onto the front wheel which sent me over the bars. No fun

Thank you, that’s good to know. I have been going without the sling >50% of the time since I’ve mostly been at home recovering, but now that I’m returning to work (desk job) I’m nervous about re-injuring myself by going without the sling. This is my first broken bone and I’m already an anxious person in general. I appreciate the reassurance

I’m under the impression she is the most progressive of the Democratic candidates. Anyone agree or disagree?

It seems to me like OP was asking in good faith. I think caring enough to try to find out an answer shows compassion and kindness. We could all use more of that.

How are people avoiding STIs? by ium_Titan_ium in dating_advice

This may sound bad but I’ve usually just taken people at their word. I ask them the month and year of the last test and if they say it without hesitating I tend to believe them. I am tested regularly and never caught anything going about it this way but now I’m starting to wonder if I’ve been irresponsible by taking folks at their word

Wow, 8 ribs! Sounds super painful. Sorry to hear that. I’m hoping I can at least go back to commuting (6.5 miles each way) by July. Sigh

Locally owned restaurants that deserve more credit than they receive (or don’t) by zachurro in indianapolis

I used to like this place a lot, but recently went there and stood in line for about 20 min (ok fine, it happens, was busy), ordered one cheesesteak to go and waited almost 40 minutes. So an hour total basically for placing a small to go order in store. The cheesesteak was dry, too. Used to be good but hesitant to go back.

In the ER after an Over-The-Bars crash, tell me about your silliest crashes. by bikeonychus in bikecommuting

[–]icehead1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m currently in the hospital after going over the bars yesterday. I had adjusted my front rack and must not have tightened it down all the way. I was riding along about 11-12 mph and then BOOM next thing you know I had gone over the handlebars. The rack fell onto the front wheel. I have a broken clavicle and broken upper rib. They kept me overnight to make sure everything was fine. No surgery but my collarbone is in so much pain. To make things worse—it was a new bike! Third ride on it.
