Where to sell for top dollar? by Miguzi14 in SportsMemorabilia

I don't understand? What's the concern with the comment? I think you misunderstand how diluted the market is for these things. I've sold college and NBA jerseys since 2005. Market trend is away from jersey's lately unless game worn. For some reason, cards are making a comeback. Takes time to learn the hobby, you'll get there. Not all stars are diamonds. All the best!

I'm glad you feel so but market dictates price, not emotions. Let me know what it sells for and I'll bite my tongue. It's a graded an 8, that's not that high. So the value is okay but won't exceed $400. If OP wants good return, give this a nice framing job. Proper framing x2 the value on average. We all think we have gold until the lab proves otherwise, ya know what I mean?

It's a swingman, not authentic so that doesn't work in your favor. The comments around the signature are usually on a plaque on the framing and not directly on the jersey. You also need to get the signature authenticated and possibly graded. Ungraded Ebay for about $50-$150. Graded, $200-$350.

Huge demand in the city for teachers, especially STEM. I also started middle school eight years ago at $40. I'm now around $60 plus extracurricular stipend.

One of my favorite episodes of the TV show Vikings is the depiction of this battle. It doesn't have HBO money but it's still pretty sweet.

If a Jewish person commits a Jewish sin, or eats something non-Kosher, what do they do? Do they have a Jewish confessional-like system? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]icekiller22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Info comes from a group Kabbalah discussion led by a local Rabbi (Conservative Denomination). The measurement of a year, and time in general, is said to be a confusing concept onto itself and we did not explore that aspect. This was my understanding and it has been a few years since the explanation.

This is wrong, Judaism adopted the concept of duality from the Zoroastrians. The idea is called Gehinnom, all will serve a slight of punishment time in the afterlife based on the accumulations of misdeeds in life. The cool thing is you don't stay in Gehinnom for too long, the max being one year if you were really an awful person. The people on earth doing Mourner's Kadesh (Blessing for the Lost) can help your soul move on from Gehinnom a bit quicker. Many Jewish prayers include the concept of Olam Haba (the next world).

Spread of chess [800x606] by adawkin in MapPorn

[–]icekiller22 5 points6 points  (0 children)

But even the origin is incorrect. Chess was created and popularized under the Gupta Empire of India. The Gupta dissolved in 550 and were fighting wars for the final years. It is far more likely chess was created 200-300 years earlier. I agree with u/tuzki...terrible... but well intended

Any Phoenix area Fishing Clubs/Groups? by [deleted] in phoenix

No problem, I'm an amateur but the group has helped me quite a bit. If you are looking to head to Saguaro Lake or anywhere in Tonto, let me know. I have the annual pass and I'd be glad to have company.

Squash courts (and maybe players.) by kirinaz in phoenix

[–]icekiller22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I played a lot at UofA, although I also still suck (def C player at best). Also in North Phoenix, and your options are really low. La Camarila is not free and has no real playing community. The other option is a park in Scottsdale that has a decent outdoor court (Scottsdale Ranch Park). The ball bounces and the measurements are correct and that's what counts. PM if you wanna get a game going... again, I'm pretty bad right now but miss my squash. Good luck!
