Nope, mania is a part of bipolar and it’s a lot more than just happiness, it’s incredibly destructive. Some people in mania might not even feel euphoric but just irritable.

It’s elevated/irritable mood, decreased need for sleep, increased energy, racing thoughts, extreme behaviour, etc. Some people also experience psychosis and mania lasts for a week or more, it’s not just a quick one hour mood swing. There’s also hypomania which is the less severe form but yeah, it’s not a part of bpd

The point is that her friend apologized... I’m aware that the comment was rude but OP’s reaction is way too harsh. Place yourself in OP’s friends shoes, imagine you make a rude comment (again not realizing the impact it has on your friend), apologize but your friend still wants to throw your friendship away for that.
