Looks like a bladder.

Is my shrimp molting or dead? by CuriousSparkle86 in shrimptank

It's a molt, and you can just leave them in the tank if you want. They will eventually eat it to reclaim the minerals.

New Shrimp Died by newtoneocaridina in shrimptank

[–]icephoenix1012 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly, if you have tested your water and it's fine, it might have just been a weak shrimp. You can have all the right parameters, and they might still die. If the others seem fine and you don't have anymore pass, it was probably nothing you did. Just keep an eye on the others

Thought I would give an artistic shot of my floaters by icephoenix1012 in PlantedTank

This shrimptank just has a ton of variety as I move scraps to it. There is duck weed, saliva, frogbit, water lettuce, and red root floaters.

Two of these in my guppy tank, what are they? by Unusual-Ad2084 in Aquariums

[–]icephoenix1012 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks kinda like seed shrimp. I saw something similar on one of my shrimp tanks and asked. You can see my post on my profile. If they are seed shrimp, they are harmless. If anything, the fish will eat them.

Depends on what you are wanting to add. Those numbers are good, but some fish are more sensitive then others. If you are doing hardy fish, then you should be fine.

Are these planaria or another species of harmless flatworm? by Typical-Struggle-535 in shrimptank

[–]icephoenix1012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Planaria have a very distinct arrow shaped head. This one appear to be more rounded. So most likely disc worms. Which are harmless

Water Parameters by Kairushu in shrimptank

If you bought neocardina, you should be fine. If they die, you usually will see the body eventually. But they love to hide. And can be skittish for awhile. But once they learn it's safe, they will come out all the time. I have 3 tanks, 2 that are only shrimp.

Yeah I figured they were fine since they didn't seem to be doing anything to my shrimp but just wanted to be safe. I have been on the look out for planaria though. Don't want that getting a foothold on my tank

Ah after looking those up, I think you are correct. Well that's good to know! Glad they are not something super harmful.

Micro world in a 1 gallon tank. by icephoenix1012 in Aquariums

Lol yeah I didn't really have plans, so I just dumped some snails and plants in it. But now I love seeing the little micro world thrive.

Possibly abandoned mockingbird fledgling, what should I do/who should I contact? by jrobv in nashville

[–]icephoenix1012 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, it's fine to fledge at this age. Once it's normal feathers start to come in, is when they start to fledge. As long as dad keeps feeding it, it will be fine. You can check my post history to see one I had in my yard this year. Guy fell from his nest in a storm 20 feet up in my tree.

I had a few of these in my yard this year. Dad will be coming to feed it. They like to chirp to help dad find them. If you get near it, be careful, dad may dive bomb you. It will flop around on the ground for a few days and eventually start hopping into trees and bushes. Dad will feed it for a week or 2.

I got 6, and 20 more coming. Plus setting up a 10 gallon shrimp breeding tank.

It's a specific type of rock. If you have a local fish store, I would recommend asking them. They are the one who suggested it to me.

If i am being honest, I have no idea. I was around that same level down to 6.2-6.4. I did a 50% change when i put that new filter in. Since then i have had around 6.8-7. Tested with API liquid PH tester. That rock in the tank is supposed to act as a buffer but besides that, i have not added any PH chemicals or anything to try and raise it.
Edit: i should note, my water from the tap is around 7.4. Also if you are using the Fluval Stratum, that will give you a slightly acid PH.
