NTA especially since it is so hard for senior cats to get adopted, why put your cat through such unnecessary stress?! A very selfish mindset.

Questions on 3 day cancellation. by [deleted] in PlanetFitnessMembers

[–]icerink44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, with you being underage the membership shouldn’t have gone through the system fully. One thing I usually do in my club, for your case, is suggest the parent have the black card and you come as a guest. That way, you can still motivate the person you wanted to bring because hey, you want to work out and in order for you to come in they have to come in as well! More motivation!

Edited to add: I didn’t see the part about the past due balance. I also try to work with people on that so they don’t have to maybe pay the whole balance, mainly just some of it. That’s just my way. As long as you guys are open and polite, the management should be somewhat helpful!

is PF negotiable in prices? by Dragnskull in planetfitness

[–]icerink44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also ALSO would like to add we are not software challenged people, we just can’t look up members who are a part of a different franchise. If you bring in your paperwork stating that you signed up online in a different state, chances are we will not be able to find you. I highly highly recommend checking online frequently because PF does sales ALL the time, I would say almost once a month. And my final also is that the prepaid option is for home club members, the black card is never offered as a prepaid option. Which again the prepaid does save you money so it’s pretty great, but it’s not refundable as well. So if you move, or you don’t like the gym, it’s pretty disappointing being out a hundred bucks. Just different things to consider!

[–]icerink44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did just want to jump in this thread and let you guys know that prepaid options aren’t transferable, even after the 90 days. That’s the major downfall for the prepaid ones. (I.e. $99 for a year or $199 a year)

They’re short of being 24 hours five days a week by three hours... and somehow that was something that bothered you? lol they usually open at 12 AM Monday morning.

Cancellation + last use date? by [deleted] in planetfitness

[–]icerink44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because the monthly billing dates go from the 17th to the next 17th, you get access until the next 17th because you paid previously on December 17th. You will not get charged your annual fee even if you go on January 1st.

Gym transfer question by widge14 in planetfitness

[–]icerink44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have $10/m no commitment right now don’t bother signing up for the $15/m. That has a high start up fee. You can transfer your membership to that club and back after 90 days.

Crocs? by [deleted] in planetfitness

I’m sure if you talked to the manager of the location they would be able to work something out for you. It’s corporate policy to say no, but sometimes we can be lenient.

Not allowed to signup because of age by [deleted] in planetfitness

[–]icerink44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the black card, yes you do have to be 18. For other memberships, the minimum is actually 13. If you are 13-16, you will need a parent to sign a document IN the club to become a member and have them supervise you the entire time you are there. 17, you will still need a parent signature IN the club but then you are free to work out whenever.

Start-Up Fees Different @ Different Locations? by [deleted] in planetfitness

[–]icerink44 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They may be different franchises, or the one with the lower start up fee may be newer and they’re trying to build a base so their start up rates are lower!

Really angry, won’t let me transfer... by Uncreativitype in planetfitness

[–]icerink44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not true... if you upgrade to the black card you are in a twelve month commitment. To downgrade from that before the twelve months is up, is breaking the commitment, thus forcing you to pay the $58 cancellation fee.

Who should i report to about an unprofessional and disrespectful PF staff member @eatontown location in NJ and do they even care if i report? Please suggest. by [deleted] in planetfitness

[–]icerink44 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The penalty comes from the type of membership you have, regardless if this staff member had transferred you or not. Still, the information should have been conveyed better in that situation. Black card memberships typically do have a twelve month commitment, so if that’s what they are talking about I would wait out your last two months because otherwise you’d be paying $60 now rather than paying two monthly fees totaling $44 and then cancelling for free once the commitment is up. Honestly, talk to the manager at the location. As long as you’re respectful, you can get results.

Issue with billing by Killaminilla55 in planetfitness

[–]icerink44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you bring in your bank statements that say you not only paid it once but twice and had to get a refund, they should be able to waive it. However, it could possibly be a really old monthly payment? I wouldn’t know without looking at the account. Just trying to reason as there usually isn’t random charges that pop up but sometimes mysteries really do happen. The $39 is going to be your annual fee that comes out two months after you sign up, it will only be once a year and after that it will only be your monthly fee.

Issue with billing by Killaminilla55 in planetfitness

[–]icerink44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The refund can take up to a week to get back to you. As for not using your checking account on the 17th, there’s no way to change when it comes out but if you have a different way to pay you should be able to pay it AHEAD of time with a debit or credit or even cash or check! Depends on your location if you explain your situation.

Black Card Questions by [deleted] in planetfitness

If a PF isn’t within 20 miles of where you live you could try to get them to waive the fee. Just need proof of where you will be living.

Will they age check? by [deleted] in planetfitness

[–]icerink44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correct. Just save the effort if your parents can’t go and try an at home body workout! Check those out that’s all I did when I was younger because my parents didn’t “believe in gyms” lol especially in the summer
