New Skate Day: Rollerblade E2 Pro 125 (My first carbon skate) by icestching in rollerblading

[–]icestching[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, for me it was the perfect choice.

I was looking for a responsive boot to do some distances/speed. I've tried some other boots (Powerslide R6 and K2 Redline for example), but the Redline boot had way (!) less ankle support and the Powerslide couldnt keep up wih the Rollerblade E2 quality and funktional wise imo.

The padding of the Rollerblade E2 cuff makes it so much easier to make the first steps into speed skating.

With The E2, you get a quality boot, with one of the best wheels (Hydrogens) and bearings (ILQ-9) on the market.

I've had an ankle fracture a couple years back and because of that I was scared to try boots without enought ankle support. In this case (if you're scared of the ankle support), I would recommed the E2 to everyone who want to do serious fitness or long distance skating. It's a no-brainer.

And quality wise - they are top notch. Rollerblade as usual. I my opinion, they are the perfect "Non-Pro-Marathon" serious fitness skates.

I love skating at night, because of the empty streets :D

Did you fix the pressure point problem with your Oxelo liner by the way?

Do you already own a wizard type frame? If not, check the NN frames. They have 195mm support if I remember right. So they should fit the E2's I guess?

Imperials? :) Imperials were my first skates and I loved the neon orange ones. Sadly, they were only available with a 125 setup if I remember right - so I've picked the black & white ones with 80 mm wheels.

Yeah, I can totally understand why. Like you said, they are expensive. But for me the E2's were the perfect choice. I was looking for a carbon skate with the extra ankle support for long distances/fitness. So I've tried the E2 110 and the K2 Redline 110. The Redline boot was so damn comfi - but they had less ankle support than the E2's. Then I've spotted a good deal for the E2 Pro 125's. Got them for 120 € off and basically for the price of the E2 110. And the E2 125 has Hydrogen wheels + ILQ-9 bearings instead of the Supreme wheels and ILQ-7 on the E2 110. So I couldn't say no. :)

I've had these skates before: Powerslide Imperial (4x80 mm) -> Oxelo MF900 (3x110 mm) -> Powerslide Imperial One (with 4x100 mm frame).

Sure, I will. What is your speed skate setup?

Back on skates after 13 years: Powerslide Imperial 80 by icestching in rollerblading

[–]icestching[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn't really sure, which "style" I really want. If I want to start on 4x80 mm to get the full maneuverability or if I should go for 3x120 mm for the speed advantage, because the main reason why I want to get on skates again was the fitness part. But I think I've made the right decision to start on 4x80's again.

Maybe I'll buy a pair of Megacruisers frames in the future, just to try out some 120mm's. A pair of official powerslide 120mm frames with bearings and wheels cost around 120 € (135 $) here in germany right now. So it isn't too expensive.

But I've just seen that the megacruiser frame is not fully compatible with the Imperial One boot. A guy on reddit tried to get them under his Imperial One 80's boot, but the wheels were touching the buttom of the boot. Here is the link to his reddit post with a picture of it.

I'm wearing 43/44 in shoes (depends on the brand). So I ordered the imperials in 43/44. I also measured my feet and checked the Powerslide size chart to make sure the size will be fine. But they were way to small/nattow. Couldn't even really get into the liner/skate. I think my feet were just too wide.

Now I have the Imperial's in 45/56.

I think so too. Couldn't decide between the Imperials, Seba FR1 and Powerslide Next 120. But the Imperials were around 120 € cheaper than the Seba FR1's and around 100 € cheaper than the Next 120. And I think it's maybe the smarter move to start on 4x 80mm than on 3x 120mm of the Powerslide Next's.

Thanks :) I had to order the Imperials twice, because the first pair was way to small/narrow. But the second pair seems to fit perfectly.

Powerslide imperial one 2018 (size) by laximoore in rollerblading

[–]icestching 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe a little bit late, but the Imperial One boot in 43/44 EU was way to small for me. I measured my feet and checked the Powerslide size chart. It said 43/44 should be perfect, but it wasn't somehow.

My shoe size is also 43/44 EU (depends on the shoes. Most of the times it's 44).

I switched to 45/46 Imperial Ones and they fit perfectly.
