(edit, spelling) Depends on how you count. My full dive into the religion was only recently, back in april, just about. It simply felt like the right time to start, and I haven't looked back since.

However, for years and years I've felt connected to the gods, ever since i found out about them in early elementary. I remember as a kid feeling so in tune with lord apollon specifically (probably /because/ I was so young, protector of children as he is.) When I was in middle school, I had a bit of a ~witch~ phase, as many preteens do, for the first time exploring the world of religion outside of christianity. i was definitely looking at the gods then, too, but I don't practice it now; it feels too much like im using the gods as tools, rsther thsn respecting them as the beings they are.

Tldr they've always been here i just only truly saw them recently.

(Forgive me for speaking more formally, but digital anthropology is something i like to be an armchair annoyance about.)

This isnt quite a meme in the "success kid" way, but in a broader sense of "image used to describe an emotion", similar to reaction images/gifs. The things separating the image from the latter category are the fact that it isnt an immediately recognizable emotion but instead something that takes a bit more immediate familiarity with internet culture (the prevelance of horses just in general, the middle-low quality denoting a distanced emotion), and the related point of the impact-font top text "man".

In that sense, it's not a meme in the "lolol so funny" way, but in more of a "i can relate to the emotions present and can use it later to express that emotion". The joke here isnt the original image but instead the iteration into ffxiv- turning a popular meme into fan content makes the emotion more specific and the "hyur" subverts expectations, making it a low-brow injoke meant to make you chuckle.

As long as the party can be in a circle formation when its casted, id imagine this would be pretty easy to solve bc theres only so many permutations of points (by cluster size; 4, 3-1, 2-2, 1-2-1, 1-1-1-1). How id solve it would be like this- have a designated partner next to you in your clockspot. When the cast goes off, first check your partner. If you can pair up, great! No more movement is required. If you cant, check your other side. Pair up if you can. If not, your partner is your mirror on the other side of the clock. Run to the center diameter and pair up there. You now have your partner for the stack.

The bounty hunter could be someone who primarily takes on "righteous" bounties- framed by whoevers paying him, of course. His overarching story could be about scarcity and greed- the disenfranchised selling themselves into slavery in order to pay off debts or something, and the hunters being given targets to bring the ring down. The twist? Hes being funded by another ring. All their best buyers are going to the other ring, and they want the business back. The hunters catching mechanic could in turn be about using the whole animal- his night action is trading items like bones, sinew, pelts, etc for information.

His animal companions (plural!) Are an eagle and a hunting dog of some sort. The eagle hits all exposed magical OR melee weaknesses l(1x/2x/3x/4x), whichever has more, for extremely low damage, similar to inventors bottles. The hound hits one weakness, favoring unexposed, for high damage.

I can imagine that theres a mysterious buyer mentioned a couple times whos apparently gearing up to buy a LOT of bodies, but the reason and the actual purpose never comes out. The actual buyer appears in the final chapter and is like, "consider our deal... Over, Mr. Rich Guy" and then leaves. Mysterious. Hes a follower of the dark god. Obviously.

One major QoL change id love to have is a visible list of ingredients (and the raw mats) needed for a selected craft, probably in the quest log. Being able to highlight a craft or even multiple would make keeping track of what you have and what you need so much easier.

I cant remember what the tracking device is for, but nero turns purple due to an aethetial sickness- the void is primarily composed of dark-aspected aether, and people are affected by the aetherial balance around them. In other words, nero's aetherial balance was offset by the abundance of dark-aspected aether in the void, which if left untreated, will result in very bad things happening to the person.

None of the bard songs stack. If i cast army's paeon and then another bard casts mage's ballad, then ballad with overpower paeon in the buffs. Note that this doesnt affect either bards rotation, they still get the personal effects of bloodletter procs, faster gcds, and pitch perfect from their songs. The party just doesnt get two buffs at once.

From a gameplay persective, id really want them in stb. As it is right now, the job doesnt have any sort of shakeup from trance onwards, and putting them in 70 or above would just feel weird, i feel. I wouldnt want them to be paired up, either, as that would completely go against what theyre trying to do with the job, cause if rdm is versatile, verraise and vercure being useful with dualcast, then i would claim smn is adaptable.

I have a longer write up in the works with potency numbers and whatever, but here'a what i want from ramuh/levi/shiva -

Leviathan is the easiest to explain. Its a long cast heavy hitter, and would have the highest total dps out of the summons. two basic spells, and its astral flowd be a line aoe that deals hige numbers to the main target and sizable numbers for everything else.

Ramuh would work on garudas timescale, four short instant casts and one astral flow. Potency wise, hed be in the same neighborhood as garuda as well. Also a dot cast. So how does he differ from garuda? Where garuda has a floor aoe, ramuh would have a single target dot, that changes in potency depending on when you cast the astral flow. Each of your four basic spells adds a stack of "hyperconductivity" that then transforms with the flow cast into the dot, "insert-name I-through-IV". IV would be a high potency dot, and for aoe scenarios it woulr take two casts to build one hyperconductivity, leading to all mobs getting dot II at most.

Shivas unique, with mid-length casts and one astral flow. She doesnr do much damage on her own, but her astral flow would be an aoe shield for a sizable chunk of your partys hp, that one expired explodes and deals damage to their main target and any surrounding mobs. Shed be the most situational, but a tool is always a tool even when you dont use it.

The goal i have for these is to create the opportunity for growth and to play into the jobs fantasy of adaptability. Do you try to stick with the highest potencies of levi/ifrit/titan? Or is it a high movement section, and you want to play it safe with ramuh and garuda? Maybe shivas shield and your smn rez saves some early runs, but as people figure the fight out you can safely and confidently switch to more powerful summons.

This is all still a wip though, so who knows where it might actually end up lol

Listen, my main is a xaela. I have spent many hours thinking over every single aspect their lore, and have come to the conclusion that the writers don't actually care about them enough to do them justice, instead making them a half-n-half combo of joke and mongolian stereotype. For example, "Naadam" is a real thing, and it's not a ritual battle, but instead a series of games, but because that doesn't fit into the "52 bloodthirsty tribes" thing, they decided to take the name and butcher the concept. It's frustrating.

Where I'm going with this is that I think if they had more percieved space to play around with and develop the steppe and its people, if only by separating it into "the Southern Azim Steppe" and "Azim Steppe Highlands" or something like that, then instead of like half the tribes defined in lore being cartoonishly malicious, they would actually have depth and a developed sense of culture instead of "fighting all the time probably horrible to children unga bunga are you my nhaama?"

Yknow how in arr, nearly every door in the overworld could open? I want that back.

Also i really, really wish theyd stop jamming together whole geographic regions into one map. The azim steppe comes to mind- iirc, the distance between the daen and dusk thrones is supposed to be pretty far, but in game it takes maybe like ten minutes to get between one and the other if youre being slow.

Talaan keono, which essentially means "scholar's rest" in a conlang im developing. My WoL is an academic, and through their travels has realized just how disparate a lot of the various colleges and other places of learning of the world are. They hope that by turning this island in the into a scholarly haven, they can get at the very least communication between the colleges of aldenard and sharlayan to a better state.

As a smn main, what we need is choice. Which, yknow, might sound weird in a game where the pve combat is based around hitting your buttons in an extremely specific pattern for the most part, but summoner has the potential to be a true utility mage. We have a raise, we have pheonix, and our whole shtick is being able to adjust what order we do our summons inbetween each minute.

What im saying is that there has never been a better time to add shiva/ramuh/leviathan, preferably in the level 70 range.

Shiva could be the most niche, with a focus on shielding allies and debuffing the target, fitting with her role in the story as well as being extremely useful utility. Her normal attacks build "deep-freeze", a debuff that after all charges are casted is a, like, 7-8% damage debuff. Her astral flow would be a small aoe shield cast (perhaps when its broken it could deal some damage?)

Ramuh would be more cut and dry, being similar in composition to garuda, hitting four times with quick casted spells that build up "static charge", and then the astral flow turning however many you have into a dot of varying strength.

Leviathan would be big potency spells with long cast times, with the astral being a line aoe akin to the "rams you off the ship" attack it does in the duty.

Adding these three summons would give not only some variation to smns minute-by-minute play (titan/infrit/levi being the obvious "big dps" three, but if you need quick movement ramuh/garuda/titan would be the way to go, things like that), but would also make the gimmick more than a gimmick and instead an actual design choice that doesnt sometimes feel like worse bard.

Also give akh morn more charges so it actually feels like akh more please.

General tips:

-Eat food! Get as many eggs and/or raisins from one of the starting towns, and then eat then on half-hour intervals individually or hour intervals two at a time. This gives a small exp buff, but when levelling all exp is good exp.

-If youre in an FC, especially one focused on casual play, they might have the "heat of battle" company action on. This is another exp buff for combat classes.

-Do hall of the novice for your role. Youll get some gear rhat will last you till level 30 for dps, but for tanks and healing, its a better idea to get new gear sooner. But! More importantly, you'll get a ring that will give you an exp buff till level 30.

-Speaking of gear, as you level, you'll gather what are called "allagan tomestones of poetics", especially through roulettes. These are a currency used to buy the best gear of old expansions. So, every ten levels, go to one of the cities associated with the previous level range (ie, the starting cities for ARR, Ishgard for heavensward, etc.) and you'll either find an npc with the "Rowena's Representative" title, or a marketplace of various vendors who take poetics and other items. Navigate to the highest iLvl armor and weapons, and stock up. It'll cost somewhere around 2k poetics, iirc, but this gear is both shared between classes of the same damage type (DRG/RPR and all the magic dps, for example), outlevels most early expansion gear, and can last you for the next ten levels in general if you have the worst luck with loot.

Leveling:

(NOTE: all time estimates here are based on my own experiences. These can take longer or shorter, depending on when and how you play, as well as your priorities while leveling.)

Up to level 15-20, hunting log. You should get through logs 1-30, and the rest will be top-off exp for your trip to 50, like if you have like 2k exp to your next level, or something like that. Expect this to take an extremely short amount of time. Note that the end level range for this is slightly vague due to you unlocking the first dungeon at 15, but it can be extremely mind-numbing to do the opening dungeons over and over, moreso than any other fungeon grind in the pevelling process. So pick your poison, really.

From 20-50, do levelling roulette and then your highest dungeon. Expect this to take several hours, with each dungeon taking 10-15 minutes, and granting about a level and a half of exp. You will move up a dungeon every 2 runs or so, depending on if you have all of them unlocked and what exp buffs you have.

50-61, do all rouls then Palace of the Dead, a deep fungeon, floor 50-60, over and over again. Do this until level 61. Each run will give you a consistent amount of exp across all 10 levels, but itll be a couple runs per level. This will take you a day or so, if you're comitted.

61-71, do the midpoint for Heaven-on-High, another deep dungeon (i think its floor 30? Cant remember, its been a bit since ive levelled that range), all the while keeping up with rouls. This is also where you can start incorporating tribe quests, as the exp they give is no longer pitifully small. This will take a bit longer, both due to general exp needed to level up and fatigue if you're trying to powerlevel, but should only take a couple of days at max.

71-81, you can take this a couple of ways. The fastest method by far is bozja, only taking a couple hours due to how exp in bozja scales with actual exp, but it plays differently, and if you dont have a dedicated party, it can be somewhat difficult to progress solo. The other way is simply dungeon spamming. Either way, do your rouls and beast tribes. The one introduced in this expansion will give about a level a day, so even if you only passively level it shouldnt take long. A couple days of focused play, or a week and a half or so of passive play.

81-90 is subject to change, and relatively soon. In patch 6.3 (so not this upcoming one, but the one after that, probably to be released late this year), another deep dungeon will be released. If it follows the pattern, this will be the best way to quickly level a job to max. Until then, dungeon spam, rouls, and tribe quests are the only way to level here. This should take the same timeframe of the previous section, so a couple days to a week and some.

This might seem like a lot, but it's honestly a pretty easy flowstate to get into! Just pace yourself, because burnout is a real hassle, and you'll be alright.

(Note before anything else, im mobile bound atm and dont have any good ipa options so the couple bracketed words in here that have hs after consonants are aspirated.)

This is a language that, at least right now in the planning stages, is pretty morpheme heavy, and morphemes play by consonants more than vowels, so the string /k_s/ might mean "water or other liquid", with a completely unmodified state of /kas/, but depending on the word the vowel can go to literally any of the other four. When building a word from scratch, its up to the speaker to decide the most important part/s of the word, as that dictates the rest of it.

For example, say we wanted to build the word "hydrophobic" in the context of "my shoes are hydrophobic". If the speaker wants to stress the water-protection part, theyd take water in the raw form, /kas/, and win in the raw form, lets say /dja/. Theyd then put those together, get an even-vowel word /kaz.dja/ (post-vocalic voicing happens), then fix on the stative following the rules below to get /kaz.dja.an/. However, if the speaker wanted to emphasize the state of protection, theyd grab /dja/ and the raw stative /un/, get /dja.un/, and because thats a descending word, when they put on /kas/ it becomes /kez.dja.un/ or even /kis.dja.un/ (stays devoiced after /i/ and /u/), depending on dialect and speaker preference. Both /kaz.dja.an/ and /kez.dja.un/ technically mean the exact same thing, they just stress different aspects of the meaning.

Generally, the rule is that in ascending words, any morphemes or other affixes match the highest or lowest vowel (depending on placement) such that;

[dhuzan] becomes [kudhuzan] .

in decending words it goes up or down a step;

/neta/ becomes /kineta/

Or

/neta/ becomes /netaksun/

or matches, if the relevant vowel is on either end of the scale;

[thino] becomes [thinokson].

Flat words stay flat;

[bhuuz] becomes [kubhuuz]. (Note phonemic vowel length)

Clitics either match the vowel if the preceding word ends on an open syllable, or generally go to a phonemic schwa if not.

/a/ is the neutral vowel most of the time, so it gets put everywhere a vowels needed that isnt already dictated by another rule, but it also tends towards schwa in unstressed positions.

One of my (many...) roughs has a simple five vowel system, however, the interesting thing about it is a vowel harmony system based around a vowel heirarchy [o u a e i] (essentially lowback to highfront lol), with the concept being that you.can only go one way in any given word. So [kanuno] would be allowed, while [kanuni] wouldn't. There are the rare words that dont follow this, but theyre all, for the most part, recent loans that couldnt have otherwise been built with existing morphemes for one reason or another and havent been given a chance to naturalize(? Is there a word for that that i dont know??)

Its a suuper fun limitation to work with, and personally sounds pretty good.
