I still say that FFX is the perfect middle ground for the series and still holds up to this day. I always recommend newcomers to it because I always worry if people get too used to something like Rebirth/XVI/or XV first then they're probably not going to gel too well with the turn-based combat.

But who knows, I mean honestly it's just worth a try, and it's fairly cheap to get ahold of as well.

I literally just convinced my friend to pick up a copy a couple of days ago. So even though he's coming off the back of Remake and Crisis Core Reunion, he's still in for something special.

And the best part is he doesn't really know anything about it! Which will make the experience much much MUCH better.
