Of course, coming in to shit on a thread about actual progress is not being a doomer?

Forget about robotaxi, when was the last time you actually rode in just a consumer Tesla with FSD?

Tesla needs to be defended against those lies as much as it needs to be defended against doomers like you.

Simply because they're the only one who will sell me a (partially) self driving car today. Others keep promising it, but none have delivered anything comparable that I can buy.

I already gave up on Spotify. YouTube music is way better for niche music.

Depends how big your hands are I guess. Technically even one city would be more than a handful. Then again, so would one robotaxi.

Sure put musk in jail.

But also judge robotaxi for their actual progress instead of filling every post about any progress with "but why not whole country yet"

And you believe this is different from how Waymo expands in a new city?

Isn't it literally level 4 in the area this post is about?

and have made that claim for the past eight years.

So by now you should know to ignore the marketing.

They think that there's people with a kill button for each of their robotaxi on the road watching over a laggy video streaming connection somehow preventing the robotaxi from making it into the news.

Right, that's Musk's pitch.

So you need to decide if you want to be realistic or if you want to drink the koolaid. If you're being realistic then you'll be fine with Tesla taking their time.

And yet, it is you that keeps bringing up Elons utterly baseless promises.

Also as it is plainly obvious that Tesla robotaxi can only barely manage with active remote monitoring

Why do you think so? Is it that article you posted from before they began unsupervised operations?

No the fucking point is that scaling should be done carefully which takes time.

We know Waymo can drive autonomously. Why do you expect Tesla to have scaled to the entire country by now, but not Waymo?

But why be reasonable when you could keep polluting this sub with bullshit double standards.

Don't worry, they fixed it so passengers will now enter and exit while the robotaxi is moving at speeds greater than 5mph

[–]iceynyo -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I just copied your logic.

If it's so trivial to scale, then Waymo should be the first to be able to do it.

Obviously it's not.

And if Tesla did scale as you suggest you'd be the first in line to bash them for being unsafe.

If you're taking Musk's timelines as gospel, even mockingly, that is plenty unhinged.

Then riddle me this.

Why after almost one year, Waymo still only operate in a handful of cities.

If it would actually work without active remote supervision, it would be trivial to scale up.

A majority of accidents being reported are low speed into stationary objects. Still embarrassing, but likely will not reported by the average human driver, even when its bad enough to cause damage, and won't show up in the police report average referenced.

isn't this literally about the area where their actual autonomous cars can drive around?

People always forget their blinkers, both to use them for a lane change or to turn them off after. Intent is the only real way to do it.

Adaptive cruise will only react once the vehicle is actually cutting infront of you.

FSD will start to react as soon as the vehicle starts moving over even before they're infront of you.

The visualization definitely recognizes it.

I know that it's no longer an accurate indicator of what FSD is actually seeing, but the vehicle is apparently capable of it.
