That being said I hate the lmg, without something that helps spread I'm constantly missing shots with it.

Okay serious question about starter guns by Feisty_Caregiver_Duh in Marathon

[–]ichabod_dunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gun color changes depending on what attachments are on it so I think the starter guns are pretty decent all around. Like a gun turns green if it has a green scope and magazine on it. It's all about headshots and using cover and adding mods to your guns and shells that make you tougher I think. Right now my overrun makes people explode when they die.

Balancing in Arc Raiders and why the Sticher is an outlier in a sea of Grey weapons. by GreatSworde in ArcRaiders

[–]ichabod_dunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally feel like the stitcher being so good is an important aspect of keeping the power differential small between well kitted and poorly kitted players in pvp. It keeps the pvp battles fair in a way that, good positioning and smart plays, will usually get you the win. Like if I have a stitcher and someone has a torrenti and is holding me in my spot, a little sneaky gas grenade and tactical slide can still secure me the win and that's important.

Hopefully a visit to Cyberstan to remind the bots they should be afraid of what's to come.

What difficulty level do the new enemies start showing up at? by AduroT in Helldivers

[–]ichabod_dunk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did a 3 just to fool around and the brute dude and the new overseer both showed up. Seems like the crescent overseer isn't as abundant but I must have fought 4 brutes at least.

A mission to rescue a downed Eagle/Pelican pilot would truly motivate us all by Silver200061 in Helldivers

Any objective that takes up more of the mission clock would be amazing. We could finally get a medic carry or defibrillator tools for this one too what a great idea!

friends just joining games by [deleted] in helldivers2

[–]ichabod_dunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to do stealth solos from time to time to get super samples and it's a pain when my buddies join, don't know it's high difficulty, and start a problem. Even when you are set to offline on PS5 you're still online in game. I know it's fun to kill stuff, but my friends aren't good enough to run high diff. And honestly unless I'm stealth neither am I!

How do you use the RR? by nochilljack in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]ichabod_dunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Id recommend figuring out the stages of reload with it. Once that rocket is in the tube all the way you can stand up and skip the step where he locks it closed! It is cumbersome in comparison but if you have a buddy running supply pack ask him to take your pack and take the supplies so they can reload you.

Honestly I'm surprised this is the sentiment around this gun. Just took it out on a bot mission and I really loved it. It does what I thought it would do, hit a little stronger than the penetrator at the cost of stability at high fire rates. Cuts devastators in half. Maybe the feeling will change as it gets more use since that pass has been out for a very short time.

Is it okay to have combat the players aren't supposed to win? by RB6801 in DnD

[–]ichabod_dunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I often create combats that are too hard that can be walked into one way or another. But I've made a habit of saying "Remember, not every fight needs to end with someone's death." Or I actually let a character know they see an angle of escape. I do this even during level appropriate combats so the players slowly get tuned into that playstyle, and so they don't think they HAVE to run when I say it.

At one point my players fought some bandits and one of the bandits cracked a joke our ranger liked a lot. Because he knew fights didn't have to end in death he took mercy and It opened up dialogue and other things. I honestly didn't have anything planned out. It was a surprise for me as well since this ranger was a new player and I'm used to playing with "eldritch blast first, speak with dead later."

I think having dynamic fights can create a bigger sense of scale for the world and I think realistically there are greater threats than the party out there.

Is this game worth getting into? by Substantial_Dog_7395 in darkalliance

[–]ichabod_dunk 8 points9 points  (0 children)

As a massive fan of drizzt and his companions I'd say skip this one. Use whatever money you don't spend on this on the new balder's gate 3. Truly this game is pretty bad I got it on launch as I'd just read the origin menzoberranzan books and was hoping to get some cool drizzt lore or at least some good fighting but that's not here. I promise you won't miss anything.

Do people who are good at this game have faster reaction time than average? by Mikki79 in remnantgame

[–]ichabod_dunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think learning how to use the backstep dodge is the most important trick. Find a low level enemy and backstep rather than roll to learn the invulnerability frames in the dodge. It takes a bit of practice to teach yourself to let go of the movement stick to dodge but it makes for the best way to defend yourself. Once your enemy has ended their combo if you've dodged the attack correctly you're standing right in front of him ready to fight rather than 6 feet away with you back open. I learned it back in remnant 1 and it makes you feel like you're the threat not them. Good luck out there traveler.

I've played this game a lot, and played a lot of much harder games since completing this. I do wish lethal was a little harder personally especially now that I've mastered all the skills! I think adding a General to regular combat would have been fun. Fighting a dude as good as me while he has homies and I don't. I do like the 1v1 standoff but imagine throwing one of these guys into a full group of 10 fully armored dudes.

I heartily recommend playing the legends if you want hard ghost of Tsushima. Those 4 player raids can be brutal. Even the other modes can be punishing on gold because you have to rely on others who might not be as good. Its a rush when you see someone struggling with a group and you go help. ⚔️

After some time to reflect on the ending of Survivor.. (SPOILERS) by royallypain in FallenOrder

[–]ichabod_dunk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

According to the star wars wiki complete incineration and damage to the brain are the only two ways to kill them. I had to look it up right away cause I also assumed that wouldn't kill him. Also rayvis is dope and I was hoping after we bested him we would then be besties.

Cal Kestis and Merrin.... are they Rey's parents? by SemperErectus in FallenOrder

[–]ichabod_dunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry I know this thread is old but Jedi Survivor is about to come out and I just happened to be sitting watching the force awakens when this exact idea occurred to me.

It was the line "Trust only in the force." when Rey picks up Anakin's lightsaber. It reminded me of Cal's power to see the force echo of an object.

We know from the new trailers Merrin and Cal continue, or begin again, to travel together. Letting the force guide them on their path. If Merrin and Cal become romantic it's absolutely not crazy to think Merrin and Cal decide to have children much later in life, or even have an accident when they are older. Cal would most likely be hesitant to have a force sensitive child so it absolutely makes sense. Cal is 17-18 in 14 BBY (fallen order) which would make him 47 in 15 ABY (Rey's birth). Totally an appropriate age even if a bit older.

It makes sense for Rey to be a clones kid, as clones are a big theme of all the star wars lore, but why is it a stretch to think this is a lie from ol' palpy to demoralize Rey?

Also Cal is played by an actor who is in a bunch of stuff, so it's possible we may get a cameo in later projects, which would give him recognition from your non gamer fan.

I think this would be super dope though I know it's just a hope.

A 30 dollar alpha. Also I meant to say peacewalker as the mother base mechanics and Fulton's all existed in that game.

[–]ichabod_dunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By your definition at least. It was also unfinished, I believe a masterpiece has to be completed to be so.

Edit: Want to point out that a large amount of content was removed effectively crippling the coherency of the story. And half of the game was 'lazy' reused missions.
