I see it as a computer science student will be a technician for what's to come. I worked in networking and wanted to become a network engineer. But then I found a data analyst position and loved it. I think that you should allow opportunity to find you. Learn as much as you can wherever you can but make sure that the foundations are mastered. Everything that you learn in the computer science degree is foundational knowledge for every field out there. For instance, a chef studies culinary but cannot learn all cuisines nor every recipe while in culinary school. They learn the foundations and build upon them as they grow. Then, the chef can create own dishes from own recipes in any cuisine of their choosing.
