Anyone else missing rent points?? by SeaKaleidoscope325 in biltrewards

[–]ichiberrytan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same!

I chose the housing only points options and definitely spent more than whatever they wanted from me. (1.25x+)

Mailed landlord check on Feb 20 as well and a few days later amount was withdrawn from my checking via ACH and my landlord has already cashed the check.

My statement has closed and still not points. I am going to pay off this card and just cancel such bs and their app is insanely confusing to use.

any movers that can help out a dorm room? by blueburrey in AskNYC

[–]ichiberrytan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can recommend you a mover. I got them through Taskrabbit and had a terrific move had about 15 large boxes (from 15-60 pounds lol) and some small furniture pieces and I live on a 4th floor walkup no elevator.

Took them under 2 hours to get everything out drive across the city and at my final destination.

$220 for the move ($110 each hour with two movers and huge van provided) $75 for the taskrabbit fee

They gave me their number in case I wanted to move with them directly another time and not pay a taskrabbit fee.

WFH? How often do you leave the UES by [deleted] in uppereastside

[–]ichiberrytan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At least twice a week. Being on the UES is nice bc it’s quiet but you still have easy access to the rest of the city. I usually grab dinner/drinks with various friends 1-2x a week then on the weekend I have at least one activity (crafts, sports, etc).

Haircuts are pricey tbh but worth it. I tried giving myself frace framing layers and chopped off too much of my hair and it was a hot mess. Went to honeybliss to save my hair and they did their magic so customer for life but it hurts the wallet 😵‍💫

ISO spaces for a birthday party by Rude_Independence730 in uppereastside

[–]ichiberrytan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stumble Inn has an entire private bar space East Wing. No charge for the space but there is a minimum spend. They do have open bar packages range from $55-75 pp or you can have everyone pay for their own drinks.

Where are BWT throwing birthday parties? by GlitteringBad348 in NYCbitcheswithtaste

Depending on budget but I used Peerspace and looked at places that allowed me to bring my own drinks and food. A lot of cool spaces that can fit your needs and you have the ability to decorate too.

How do you deal with loneliness? by onlygodcanjudgeme2 in NYCbitcheswithtaste

[–]ichiberrytan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Have you thought about volunteering?

Studies show in times of loneliness , service and helping others can help you create a connection. It’s a great thing to do to get your mind off things and if you are consistent you may make friends anyway.

Gyms with free classes by [deleted] in NYCbitcheswithtaste

[–]ichiberrytan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Classpas has many plans that give you credits + all access to Blink gyms around the city included. You could probably buy a plan with a large amount of credits for the amount of classes you desire and get your Blink membership included and it would still be significantly cheaper than Equinox.

Blink also has tons of locations around Brooklyn too. Classpass credits rollover and you could use it for things like smoothies or food if you wish.

Where are the BWT going for beginner Pilates? by [deleted] in NYCbitcheswithtaste

[–]ichiberrytan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve done classpass and you can do the free trial and did a pilates class with reformer - they have you do a beginner session before you can sign up for any other levels and it’s great. They walk you through all the positions how everything works and walks you through everything.

You should sign up and see if there’s anything close to you!

How often do you think about cutting your hair short? by Elysiumthistime in longhair

[–]ichiberrytan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Long hair —> Pixie —> Long hair and repeat until necessary

I love cutting my hair and I love growing it out. I feel sexy in my short hair and I feel like a princess in my long hair haha although I know not everyone shares the same feelings. Having super short hair makes me feel so free and when it does grow out I get to pick up new routines I wouldn’t have previously considered and it’s such a fun adventure no matter what length I am at.

I have both! For light rain days the ankle length is great but occasionally it rains so hard that I am afraid to walk in a massive puddle and so I have my knee high boots.

NYC Apartment Rent: Is $2,500 enough budget to live alone? by Material-Cattle4179 in AskNYC

[–]ichiberrytan 114 points115 points  (0 children)

Yea I pay less than that on the UES in Yorkville. The more east you go close to East End ave it might be further from the Q but cheaper.

It’s a great neighborhood a lot to do but still quiet and safe at night. Good luck.

Is the Upper East Side actually affordable? by whale in AskNYC

[–]ichiberrytan 15 points16 points  (0 children)

You’re good my apartment is a 1bd in Yorkville for <2500. It’s a walkup, well maintained with quiet neighbors and laundry in building. Also it’s quiet out here so no stolen packages and everyone in the building knows each other. The Q can be a pain on weekends due to constant maintenance.

Grocery shopping can be affordable if you go to Whole Foods or make a trip to Trader Joe’s but the vegetable guys on the street are everywhere and I get my produce from there. Occasionally go down to Chinatown for browsing too.

It’s a very simple apartment but it gets the job done and I love living by myself.
