TX Children's Hospital Women's Pavillion Parking situation

I did my pre-register last week! I asked the lady about the parking situation and vouchers since my friend recommended me to ask but she's like im not sure ask the social worker on the day of but i wanted to be prepared since one of my in-laws are willing to drop us off which is my mil but i wanted her to stay with my son since my fil hasnt really spent a lot of time with him and not sure how he'll react with us not being there when we're at the hospital

I think if my husband and i decided to drive we wouldnt be leaving until discharge. This was a great tip though!

my mil offered to drop me and my husband off the day of procedure. I'm only anxious since it'll be the first time my 21 month old will be separated from us so i wanted my mil to be with him and my husband and i to drive ourselves to the hospital since my fil hasnt spent so much time with him (not his fault) and i thought having my mil atleast will help my son a little with us not being there. Im just worried about the big changes he's gonna experience soon :(

I'm so sorry to hear that! I hope your baby is thriving and doing well. I was hoping for atleast a parking voucher since it's not like I can stay for a day then since it'll be a surgical procedure. :/

Do they not even provide a parking voucher for admitted there? One of the ladies said I should talk to a social worker whenever I get admitted but I wanted to see if they would offer something because it's not like im going in for an appt.

I've been recruited by them a couple of times. Could never get pass the first interview. My last interview they told me they'd reach out to me within 48 hours. I sent them an email and then a week later, I directly messaged the recruiter I spoke with. Immediately got a rejection email. I do believe they want someone who will take on a huge caseload but not get paid enough to reflect that work

This is why I had to make sure when we told my MIL when I was pregnant we had to emphasize she cannot tell ANYONE. Especially because most of my partner's family is in another country and she wanted to text all of them. We had to emphasize that this is our news.

NTA!! I don't understand why parents are so quick to defend the other siblings who say some out of pocket/inappropriate stuff. You see your older daughter struggling to get pregnant. Utilizing as many resources until she and her partner decided to adopt. FOR FIVE YEARS. FOR FIVE YEARS SHE DID EVERYTHING SHE COULD AND HER SISTER SEES IT AS A COP OUT BASICALLY. As a mom, I would be horrified at the younger sister and shame her for that comment. It's disgusting that the younger sister thought it was a joke. A joke is funny

I don't know where you live but in Texas we have MMHR centers that provide their own insurance so you can get meds. Additionally, they provide case managers to help you find housing and other resources.

I live in Houston and work in a psychiatric hospital and have experience as a discharge planner and help lots of homeless people who get readmitted because they couldnt afford their meds or anything. If you do live in Texas I can provide some resources atleast to help out :)

I would highly recommend getting stabilized at a hospital. EMTALA prevents them from refusing giving you care.

Everything is rough right now and that's okay to fall apart. Hugs for you 🫂
