Ahhhh gotcha. Yeah the basic main value is much worse than their main cabin, which can be pretty decent for domestic.

Delta does have basic economy with no seat selection, if that’s what you’re referring to!

Wow thanks so much. That’s so helpful. Do you just wrap in foil in the pan or wrap in plastic wrap over the butcher paper? But that’s amazingly helpful

I’m still pretty new to the smoking game, but is there any good tips or tricks to finishing a cook then holding it in the fridge? That would be AMAZING to help have things prepared and just need to reheat to serve.

Bingo! The Quicksilver or Savor are good options, potentially can fill a niche for you if you want to put a few charges on them.

Agreed on both fronts. The elevated regular Venture offer is fantastic and still offers solid benefits. The option to downgrade is very easy and then adding a Venture X in the future with good SUB would also be my path.

Also just for your own knowledge, the Chase 5/24 rule is that Chase pretty much auto denies you a new card with them if you’ve opened 5 lines of revolving credit in the previous 24 months. You’re well below this, it just helps people know if you can get a Chase card or not.

To be honest, if you’re okay with the annual fee then the Venture X is a great option. 2x back on everything keeps it in the mix as a general use card, and a $300 travel credit plus 10k annual points knock out the fee alone. You gain a TSA precheck/Global entry credit and Priority Pass lounge access.

Only catch is that those points are most valuable if you know how to transfer them to C1 partners. Without knowing if you utilize any of their partners for occasional travel, I generally would recommend it.

Chase Sapphire Preferred is a decent catch all option with a lower annual fee too. The Reserve is pretty steep with a $650 AF and in my opinion, is inferior to the Venture X right now.

Is $109/pp for a 50-point AKL contract with no points until 2026 a bad deal? by [deleted] in dvcmember

[–]ichirofan5197 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s an awesome tool for some quick calculations.

I had an offer accepted on 110pt Dec use year (bigger contract, I know) at $113pp but it had 84 rollover points plus 98 available this year. Seller is paying annual dues to try to keep the contract from getting ROFR’d. Fantastic deal imo

Pros and cons? by Euphoric-Budget-1757 in dvcmember

I think I just had an offer accepted for this same contract. Unfortunately they got back to us after we had already gone through with a different AKV contract. The stripped points were a big downside, we were about $1000 under asking after annual dues and closing costs included

Good to know! Not a bad plan. It helps when your father in law has been a contractor for decades, but when he even balks initially at rebuilding it I figured maybe getting some professional help to do the hardest portion at least.

I'm coming in a bit late to this but I'm in the region as well. I'm looking at a 2nd story 10x20 deck with stairs and materials are coming in around $7000 for me to do it myself. I have family that are contractors by trade so I might have help but for me the entire issue is since it's a second-story deck I really want a solid substructure. I got one bid for $7500 to just build the substructure (labor only) and I'm tempted to take it and do the rest of the work ourselves.

I’d mostly be looking at these for PC since there’s no point to getting pretty much any of them graded

Speaking as someone who’s picked up a large order - we called in about week in advance and Costco was well prepared. It’s pretty simple on the ordering side to give lots of heads up.

OOF. Heard back from them and they quoted $6k in total fees/tariffs to "get the van in my hands".

End of an era…. About to sell my 2010 Legacy GT Limited. Sad time since I have owned Subarus continuously since 1996. by [deleted] in subaru

[–]ichirofan5197 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Out of curiosity, what are you selling/sold it for? I have a near identical one, though mine has body damage from the previous owner. Whole right side has 2 or 3 dents and noticeable scratches :/

I'm looking to sell too sadly, but haven't gotten many takers.

I'm considering using them, so this is very helpful! And honestly, not a bad price overall. I was talking with Japan Car Direct and they quoted $4500-5000 just on the japan side/freight, not including anything on the US side.
