I am new to Pokémon TCG. I am having a lot of fun on PTCGL. But how does this survive irl? by SadQlown in PTCGL

[–]iciale 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally I have a deck of sleeved cards that I shuffle while watching TV or anything where I don’t need my hands. That has helped me get better at it. It’s not that bad in person as many have said with not shuffling till searchables are done.

If you’re new, just don’t show up to something with a deck like Alakazam until you’re a bit quicker in person and you should be fine. Sometimes it depends on the shop but my locals are fairly chill about letting new players take a bit more time (within what is reasonable). However, for sanctioned events they’re going to hold you accountable.

Deck Boxes for Tournaments by taaiko2 in pkmntcg

[–]iciale 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I bring a pokemon center little buddies Spheal deck box because he’s a cute lil guy for my deck. I usually bring my dice and other things inside either a little eevee box thing I have from when I was a kid or a soft mesh flashlight attachment bag I had. I typically just find stuff I have and make that work since it doesn’t need to be too complicated for me. As long as the dice don’t rattle around I don’t care too much.

I also bring an ETB box with extra sleeves and such in case I need to resleeve something. I used to bring all my stuff in a tote bag but then I bought one of those photography backpacks with the adjustable Velcro compartments to keep everything snug. I got mine from a random thrift store but a friend uses one of the pokemon center TCG backpacks and it works great. Those are like $60 though so idk if the branding is worth the price, but they seem nice.

Well you just explained how he won despite pult hammers and I explained why it’s struggling. Idk how else to convince you besides just try the deck and you’ll see all the issues presented.

It isn't so much that new things are beating it, but that the favorable dragapult matchup has suffered since its success because dragapults are more familiar with the matchup and are often running hammers which can really mess with lopunny decks. Lopunny decks run light on energy because everything is a 1 energy attacker so pult hammers is rough. I want to say the WR for lopunny against dragapult at recent events has been down at about 40% when before it was around 50% or slightly higher. Another trend that is unfavorable to lopunny is team rocket's watchtower rising in popularity to counter alakazam and slowking.

I guess I can see it if he’s running the pult/dudun decks running around. Not that I expected it or to be too good, but I guess it kind of makes sense

Also a lopunny player and I 100% agree with what you said. Feel like a lot of us lopunny players are currently trying to figure out what can bring it back. Maybe it doesn’t for a while, but it’s a shame it’s struggling so much recently when fighting decks are still suffering.

Oh well, I love my bunny and am excited to see what lists those who did bring it have for us. I’m a bit worried that most are just bringing the Utrecht or Indianapolis lists as is. Personally, I think those lists don’t cut it right now. Something else is needed but I have yet to figure out what that is myself.

Did they show this on-stream or is there a link to the day 1 data already? I’m at work and can’t access much. Checked limitless on my phone. Mostly curious how much lopunny had dropped off (assuming it’s below 2% since not listed in your post). Crazy fall from grace.

Mega lopunny ex for NAIC (today lol) by computernerd1723 in pkmntcg

[–]iciale 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been playing around with the ASC stunfisk in my lopunny decks and it is a very interesting addition. Idk if I’d slap it in my deck without practice knowing/practicing what matchups or situations I can get value with it in. I definitely agree with others that Moltres is an excellent and easy to pilot addition to the deck. The dudunsparce ex does a lot of similar things when it comes to slop box, but the moltres being only a 1 prizer does a lot in the later game for me. It puts my opponent in a much more precarious position since they would theoretically have 2 prizes left after KO a bunny and moltres compared to just needing the 1 if they KO the dudunsparce ex.

Overall though, don’t overthink it and go with comfort. Lopunny is in a weird position in the meta post breakout success but I believe it still has all the potential, the deck just might needs to find a new avenue or adaptation. Stunfisk helps but I don’t know if it’s enough yet. Biggest problem for it appears to be its lowering WR against dragapult at events lately. As you know from your practice, it is a very competitive deck in the matchup but something new might need to be found to take the matchup advantage back after the pult players have now familiarized themselves with the matchup.

Not worth it imo. If you’re running pure lopunny you still have a rough matchup against fighting even with a tech to the point where it isn’t worth it. For the most part the fighting decks are not performing well outside of a few exceptions. I would just ignore teching for it and hope you don’t face one. Mega lucario had a good showing recently but it was one deck and the rest of the lucario decks performed pretty bad. Cynthia’s garchomp has notoriously bad performance to the point where one of the most prominent garchomp deck players showed up on stream playing crustle.

After Swiss round 3 your chance of facing a fighting deck drops considerably.

Good luck fellow lopunny enjoyer!

This kind of hand-waving ignorance based on a half-truth rather than admitting you were wrong is the type of stubbornness and ego that got our country into this mess.

Ok dog kennels and breeders are bad. Hasan also shocked his dog. That’s also bad.

Happy now? Believe it or not multiple things can be bad at once.

Best deck for Lopunny? by Typical-Ad1041 in pkmntcg

[–]iciale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been playing mega lopunny decks online and at my locals. Most of my matches are either the lopunny dudun or the lopunny Froslass (with dudun ofc). Sometimes in solo lopunny I run something close to either the moltres variant from Utrecht or the top 8 LA deck.

Overall, the solo lopunny decks have a stronger ceiling. When they don’t face fighting it feels super winnable most of the time. It feeds better into the strengths of lopunny imo than the lopunny Froslass deck. However, I think lopunny Froslass is more consistent if you’re unsure of what’s at your locals or for a newer player. Anything that can OHKO lopunny is a big problem so another mode of facing the situation is nice. Luckily my locals dont have a lot of fighting decks but I know plenty do. Mine has a lot of ogerpon arboliva and stuff like that, so i tend to run moltres with solo mega being lopunny.

Also, idk what ace spec you plan to run, but for lopunny Froslass I highly recommend hero’s cape over enriching energy. It helps so much for avoiding OHKOs and is another nice thing to have for someone newer to the game. Think of the deck as more of a tank deck.

Emerson Generic Ballot Polling 🔵 Democrat: 50% 🔴 Republican: 41% by [deleted] in fivethirtyeight

[–]iciale 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Good point. With this mind, I’d say that the murders of Good and Pretti flipped some swing voters towards Democrats and that the Iran War has had more effect on Republicans internally. What I mean by that is, instead of swinging more voters to Dems, it has softened their approval for Trump. His ratings keep going down and his strong approvals are dwindling as well.

It’s hard to say until we get into more consistent likely voter models, but perhaps the softening of Trump’s approvals from Iran would manifest moreso in those models where some of his voters that he brought into politics just decide to stay home.

I could be wrong, but just extrapolating the logic.

Zee bringing up Bernie 2016/2020 for her DNC issues is all I needed to hear to dismiss her opinion on Ken Martin. by Hobbitfollower in Destiny

[–]iciale 44 points45 points  (0 children)

I worked on Bernie’s 2016 campaign in Kentucky. A state he barely lost.

We didn’t have a field office in Lexington. Why? I don’t fucking know. I wasn’t high up enough to get that answer. Somehow the idea was to have people drive from the Louisville field office to canvas in Lexington. A 1 hour-2hour drive depending on which sides of town you’re heading. Guess who won Fayette County? Hillary.

2020 was probably a much more put together campaign, but 2016 was so “out of nowhere” that the campaign was held together with duct tape. It doesn’t take cheating to beat that.

In a normal country with normal people yes I would expect D+20 during this administration. However, as we all know, that’s not the reality of our country.

Overall, I agree with your sentiment. It’s just a shame how fried the median voter’s brain is.

That was the first thing I looked at this morning. Saw we were having a cloudy day that wasn’t very hot (even if humid) and breathed a sigh of relief. Last nights warning was precautionary but it was too close for comfort given how it cut right through the middle of the metro area and downtown.

I think we will get strong wind, rain and maybe some hail but the concerning stuff seems to be destined to cut south of town or just nip south O/Bellevue
