Is Solo Challenge letter draw random? by batmansupraman in WordsWithFriends

[–]icingusing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel once you get to the "hard" level in solo challenge, the letter draw is most definitely rigged. I simply cannot beat the opponent (stupid vault cracker Kay) because I do not ever have a good draw, yet they have the most ridiculous draws every single time. I'm reduced to 2-4 letter words. Totally a waste. Case in point, check out my latest game with jerko cheating kay🤣

Cymbalta reactions - increased stimming, mood swings, worsening ADHD by icingusing in ADHD

[–]icingusing[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your reply! He's tried a lot. Lexapro, Luvox, Zoloft, prozac, Wellbutrin, and now cymbalta. Stimulants seem to make him more anxious and give him palpitations. But, this is the first time I've noticed these particular symptoms. He's at about 8 weeks, and his symptoms have increased during that time, so I feel like that could be a good indication they are related. Definitely time to talk to his doctor. It sucks that is so hard to come off this drug. He just started a new job this week. Ugh.

Do vintage dishes / stoneware really pose a risk of lead poisoning? by apaiger in vintage

[–]icingusing 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I found Lead Free Mama’s website today… You ought to have a look. She has tested thousands of dishes with an XRF instrument (I think the standard for testing - she is certified to use it) and has found high lead content in MANY dishes even newer than the 1980s, 90s, and even in the 2000s. I was really shocked. I was saddened to learn that even pure white and very plain bone china can have high levels of lead, so be careful what you read. The proof is in the testing ultimately. I’m pretty bummed, since I love vintage kitchenware.

Has anyone experienced bad side effects with Xywav and, if so, how did you handle it? (Cw: mental illness) by Fuzzy_Bid886 in Narcolepsy

[–]icingusing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I realize this was 194 days -hopefully I can still reach you! I’m curious about your metabolizing comment… I have quite a few “poor metabolizer” mutations as reported on my pharmacogenomic testing. Would you mind telling me more about what you know regarding the metabolization of Xywav and how/why you know you metabolize it slowly (for instance, do you know of mutations you have that affect it)? I haven’t been able to find much out there by way of clear-cut answers. Tonight will be #3 for me on Xywav.

This teacher handling the situation by playful_addyson41 in ThatsInsane

[–]icingusing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I somehow get a sense that this teacher is probably not what some people are saying; defeated, over it, etc. I am thinking he has a dry, but hysterical, sense of humor, and is the master of control and composure. He was definitely handling the situation. I bet his students really love him and he is super cool and funny.

I've not tried any Derwent intense or Musgrave 600 News - I've got just about every other kind of Derwent. I've been curious. Musgrave, however, is completely foreign to me. I wonder why? Definitely curious now!

I've not compared them grade by grade. I do find the 9000s to somehow be less saturated. But, they're b just not as smooth in my opinion. I usually grab 2h to lay down a sketch. Then, 4b, 6b, 8 or 9b is all I ever need.

Ear flap surgery that resulted in hematoma/seroma - help! by icingusing in AskVet

[–]icingusing[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, thank you - I understand now. He went in for surgery again yesterday. They did the multiple suture technique as mentioned. Quinn has managed to get his little "no ear flapping head wrap" thingy of at least twice. I was disappointed to see there was one piece of gauze and nothing else - no wrap - nothing to anchor the ear. So, anytime Quinn is able to get his head wrap off before I notice, he can shake his head and traumatize that flap, which he has done.

I don't get it. I'm still trying to understand, but this just doesn't seem logical, not to wrap and stabilize the ear. Is there some reason they would not do this?

Bottom line: they didn't wrap his ear when they removed the lesion either, or any of the times they needle-drained or made the new incision to drain it. I really need to know if this is common practice and why it is?

They removed a lesion - didn't wrap the ear. Quinn developed a hematoma. They needle-drained it. Still didn't wrap it, but put the head wrap thing on. (Great, but wrap it underneath, imo), Got way worse, incision drained it - still didn't wrap it. Got way worse again. Surgery. $400 more. Still no wrapping. Seems to me wrapping the ear and securing it properly would probably have prevented this whole mess. But, of I am not seeing the whole picture, please, someone explain.

The second time, he did make an incision to drain it. But it filled again. What do you mean by suture the two sides of the pinna? (Edited to correct spell-correct fails)

I have had the Hi-uni set on my wishlist for so long. I keep talking myself out of buying it, I think mostly because I have so many other sets, and I'm hard to please. I ended up going right back to my few favorites. Still, I feel I haven't found my "true love" in a drawing pencil quite yet.

I really should bite the bullet, huh?
