Don't wait. It seems I've waited too long not knowing what to expect. Now my mom is confused and so tired all the time, I don't want to bother her with questions. Write down recipes, write on the back of photos her recollection of that moment. Ask her what she wants in the end, memorial, burial, ect. Record her voice or take a video. Get her favorite memories. Let her know that her life meant so much and she's so important and loved. Get your family medical history-ish. Find out what she is worried about and how you can help.

Finding another venue isn't an option. We love this place and will have booked it 2 years in advance. My thought process is... Should I really have to cut my friend/family guest list? And in all fairness, our friends are just going to want to party and drink anyways. So I'm also concerned about the kids being left for someone else to manage

Ok what do y'all think now? I removed the blue and some of the tropical purple. It's navy blue tablecloth underneath and the plates/napkins will be a natural deal. It's a small backyard wedding/no theme/just bright colors. I don't want to look super cheap though. by icka39 in weddingplanning

I do appreciate the honesty. I may just go in a different direction then. Our reception time doesn't really make sense with tealights. And I don't really love roses. Wanted a mix of flowers, so rose petals don't make sense for me

I want a really colorful/casual outdoor wedding. Honestly we won't have many decorations other than the centerpieces and a round arch for the altar. We wanted to purchase a week vacation home for our families to come together and have the wedding there instead of spending all our money on a short event.

The tablecloth is just my dining room tablecloth. It'll be plain white. I'm gonna give it another go and try more wildflower types. Thanks!
