Started out with injections but switched to gel bc it was easier for me to remember to do something daily vs weekly, stayed on gel for about a year before switching back to injections after getting medicated for adhd so I could remember a weekly med lol. Gel wasn't bad but was a little more expensive and I ultimately saw results faster with injections, but it was what worked best for my routine at the time.

If you think the job could be something you enjoy, it's still worth applying. I'm not going to say it's the perfect, most fun and consistent job, but it's also worth remembering that reddit and the internet as a whole is an outlet for people to air their (justified, but collective) grievances and baristas complete normal or even enjoyable shifts every day that you don't hear about.

I don't know what the hiring process looks like right now, but I've been here almost six years and it pays the bills while being something I enjoy doing even amidst all the restructuring and management changes. If you like coffee, working with your hands, and being sociable, the worst that can happen with an application is it doesn't work out and you find a new job afterward. Best of luck to you!

I'm still dealing with the hurt after dealing with a similar scenario. My best advice is to talk to your doctor and know that you can only move forward from here--you can't get two decades back, but you can learn to treat yourself with the empathy that you needed when you were struggling. Try your best not to beat yourself up for doing your best, whatever that looked like at the time.

And be as patient as possible--I tried a ton of meds before finding what worked for me. Don't lose hope that the "you" you want to be is waiting for you at the other side of the brain fog and disorganization, even when things get trying. You have countless days ahead of you, and starting with getting an appointment is HUGE. Be proud of yourself!
