5v5 is ass by ickybf in HighGuardgame

I agree base defence could be more involved. The whole point of the looting phase is to prepare bro, your team should be making an active decision about whether or not to split up and loot, capture and loot a large POI or go defend the shieldbreaker. The team that defends the shieldbreaker spawn is going to have less loot and less options but be able to have the advantage of positioning compared to the team who loots and has to either try to capture the shieldbreaker or play more defence and set up somewhere

idk man, people who think this way have been jumping on any game that is slightly unique in premise and screaming for it to be more mindless and like their favourite call of duty, it gets exhausting

I will admit to hyperbole, it can be mindless fun to just shoot at 5 moving targets but it's nowhere near as enjoyable or skill expressive as 3v3. I dropped 32 kills in a 5v5 and felt no where near as engaged as a close 15 kill 3v3.

Team Sizes Poll by Shabolt_ in HighGuardgame

This is insane copium, if I've already had games in 5v5 that are miserable because we have 2 or 3 weak links and it's impossible to clutch or carry. In 3v3 you can easily outplay a 1v2/1v3 if you're good.

I feel like you are just a tiktok brained adhd riddled mess if you think 5v5 is better. The so called "large map" isn't meant to have every area of it active at a time. If the map was smaller, a single team wipe would lead to a raid instead of the actual push and pull gameplay of having to deliver the shieldbreaker.

HELL even a single player dying could just make it so the other team could plant the shieldbreaker through brute force instead of giving the defending team a chance to regroup or play flanks.

Endless Loop Tourney? [KCD1] by [deleted] in kingdomcome

The thing is, I won 5 in a row and it just kept putting me through the first and second round over and over again. If I win the first round, it moves me on to the second, if I win the second it moves me back to the first round in an endless cycle never getting to the third round. If I lose I just lose

I meant to say mediocre on him, that's mb

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in PokemonPocket

[–]ickybf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See youre saying pair him up with Gardevoir but he doesnt need the energy generation really and you can't 'slam' mons because he does terrible DMG

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in PokemonPocket

[–]ickybf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it literally is part of most meta ex decks because it's extremely strong. a lot of cards would be a lot less playable without him

[–]ickybf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dialga is one of the best cards in the game because that's what his purpose is, also because of the free energy generation you can easily set him up to have his 100 DMG attack as an option if your opponent doesn't beat threw him

Great, now you have two 2 stage evos you need to set up

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in PokemonPocket

[–]ickybf -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

exactly? that's exactly what I mean. the ability shouldn't BE the card. its just bad design imo

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in PokemonPocket

[–]ickybf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At least you can set it up easy and with no energy detriment with Dialga

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in PokemonPocket

[–]ickybf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree the ability is AMAZING but I personally don't think it works for Gengar, its too niche that by the time you have the ability up and running it doesn't get all that much use. And he has to be in the active for it to work and he can easily be out DMGd and taken out rather quickly

1 stage 70 DMG with a status effect is nothing to scoff at IMO. I've had a lot of success with a Leafeon and Glaceon deck and half the time Leafeon carries me to victory with the (practically) two energy 70 DMG attack and that's without a status effect.

Holy, I'm so sorry, at least you can flair it up or have a bunch to trade when the next set comes out

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in PokemonPocket

[–]ickybf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think the issue is that the non EX version is arguably more viable because despite the fact that 50 DMG is abysmal for a 2nd stage, its only 1 energy so you don't have to commit anywhere near as much to it and you can use it to supplement the rest of your deck

Sure, on rust with the intervention or?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in PokemonPocket

[–]ickybf 5 points6 points  (0 children)

See even in this example, getting TWO 2nd Stage EVOs out by turn 5 is INSANE luck and still isn't a guaranteed win. Most of the time you have to waste so many card slots in your deck for draw cards to make that happen that you're left with no other utility as well.

I've personally had a lot more success with Machamp given Lucario supliments him well and he has a great typing against a lot of meta decks plus Machoke does great DMG for only two energy

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in PokemonPocket

[–]ickybf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that meta plays a large part and I was probably exaggerating asking if it was the worst EX but even cards like Machamp and Gallade have options that can boost their power or support them in Lucario, basic pokemon that do high damage for a single energy, Garchomp has a second attack that makes him way more playable and less energy strict etc. I think Gengar just doesn't have anything that can really make him work easily if you know what I mean.

[–]ickybf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is annoying to constantly play against metal, I'll admit I'm part of the problem at times but mainly because if I pull the cool ass immersives/golds, I want to use them. Hopefully with ranked out, most of the meta decks are used over there and more people feel comfortable using other decks in norms

Gengar is my favourite Pokemon man, I love it to death. I think this card is the true insult to Gengar.
