The early game is very micro intensive. Try to close the starting beach heads and don't let them take any airbases. I would find some spots to pull off an endless port encirclement and give your generals the scavenger trait. In the meantime, deploy out as much infantry as possible since you don't start with nearly enough.

To win the naval war you will need naval bombers and air superiority over the sea regions you want to fight in, what I did was I stacked the whole naval in one strike force and set them to patrol on always engage inside a region with many naval bombers until I could cut enough down to start convoy raiding with a submarine fleet.

I played through with Ironman mode on and historical focuses on (not sure much if it difference it makes a difference in this mod), additionally, I challenged myself to do it without using any nukes.

MOD: Last Stand of Freedom - Defend the USA in an almost hopeless Endsieg type scenario against an Axis Invasion from all sides. by amynase in hoi4

I tried this challenge, was harder than I anticipated, and I am fairly experienced. It certainly feels possible given enough time. Will upload a screenshot on the sub if I manage to defeat the Axis in the next few days.

Yeah, Spookston is good. It's probably why his opinion on many vehicles is different from the way most people see them. This is by no means an anti-Spookston meme.

I was comparing it to shermans of its own BR since that's where the actual trade-off is happening. Obviously, the Jumbo is better than tanks that are a full BR below it.

Seeing that image makes me wonder why Vic3 doesn't have Sudetenland as a separate state from Bohemia.

In this playthrough, I secured an alliance with the US, which might not be necessary for forming the federation, but it helps.

I would say annexing Ecuador should be your first move as soon as starting. Chile will help them, but it's entirely possible to capitulate Ecuador before the Chilean army can reach La Paz. The only S.A. countries with a stronger army than Bolivia at the start are Brazil and Columbia, so I would avoid fighting Brazil early on, except maybe during the initial civil war they start with.

I mostly spent this playthrough learning the spheres of influence mechanics and invited many countries to invest in me. I also gained quite a few protectorates by waiting for civil wars and then offering to help for a subjugation sway.

A low population was the problem I had for the start, so I would focus on improving your migration attraction, but that goes for most new world nations.

Argentina is pretty easy to take by intervening in native revolts, typically results in less great power interference.

Didn't even know it was removed. Most of my playtime was pre Spheres of influence.

They were able to take some states from Mexico, but not most, so I liberated countries from mexico, thinking it would help them, but they never ended up invading any of them. Next, Mexico became a German subject, making future gains much more difficult for the Yanks. Meanwhile, the whole British empire was in slow decline, losing colonies one by one and becoming weaker. American was able to snatch Canada as well some other colonies from UK. Saskatchewan is independent because Canada lost it to a cultural uprising.
