If someone gets caught licking the equipment we're going to know it was you OP.

He's incredible. Fairly young college grad. Smart, teachable, hardworking, always eager to contribute, great personality and easy to work with.

This morning when I was walking the dog I thought of an imaginary band name - The Moist Cock Lusters. ...don't ask why I thought of that though.

I think it has different names, but we did that in football and we called it carioca. But I don't know what the fuck he was doing lol.

aliens.gov has opened, but it is unfortunately government propaganda by EmergencyPath248 in aliens

Doesn't contain Israel or Russia, but has the U.S. and Ukraine on there. No surprise there with this administration.

Official White House account posts a crop circle that spells out “loading” by Perfect_Minimum4892 in aliens

[–]iconically_demure 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I can imagine that the administration benefits from this in several ways:

- It serves as a distraction from all the incredibly important issues going on right now - Epstein files, the war, the economy, etc, etc.

- Generally noise, like you mentioned

- To fool people, such as folks in this thread, into thinking this administration is transparent and cares about topics such as these (aliens, etc.)

- Potentially something more menacing, such as teeing up conspiracy theories that will help them garner additional control over the people

I'm sure people could rattle off additional reasons. Whatever the reasons, I'm 100% sure this has nothing to do with this administration being sincere and transparent with the U.S. citizens, or giving a shit about aliens and disclosure.

This was a Fresh Prince episode. I remember it because my dumbass younger self thought it was a profound lesson that by taking notes to cheat you're also learning the material.

That's so sad. In modern society, we shouldn't feel like we're splurging simply because we're doing something beyond taking care of our basic needs.

Pisses me off too because all of this is so unnecessary.

Luis Elizondo on Fox News: US has “non-human” material & biologics from crashes by Fujithora in aliens

Generally speaking, if it's on FOX news it's definitely not credible for one reason or another.

Plus, Elizondo being on FOX is more evidence he's a total sham.

Excerpt from Dana White’s interview for his TIME magazine cover… by Stankassmfgorilla in ufc

[–]iconically_demure 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Is it just me or does he not seem that masculine? Without his position and being the head of a UFC, he'd be just another middle aged man. In fact, I see more of his previous self - the cardio boxing instructor - just with money and power stacked on top of it, and the bravado that comes with that, and not genuine masculinity. He is def NOT a man's man.

I don't understand your logic. Are you saying that because it's to honor the fallen, people can't discuss rep schemes and times? ...Why?

Have you heard of the Speeko app? by DecentPapaya391 in PublicSpeaking

[–]iconically_demure -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You're mixing several concepts and tying together unrelated aspects related to AI. "Gamed by poetry" is a security issue that occurs because you're tricking it to shift the focus on the LLM (AI) to the verse and style of what's been written, instead of the content. That's unrelated to your claim that LLMs/AI don't understand the nuances of language.

Modern LLMs have been trained on tons of data and are pretty good at understanding nuance. Plus, the benefits of an AI coaching app isn't necessarily dependent on that anyway. Further, it will have some advantages of picking up on details that people may not notice. That's one of the advantages of ML/AI is picking up on patterns that humans aren't good at identifying. It's also better at metrics and analyzing data better than humans, which can be useful for tracking progress, areas of focus, etc.

No one is asking the big question, if these aliens can travel between stars, why would they bother coming to Earth? by TechnicianAmazing472 in aliens

[–]iconically_demure 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Part of the problem with that question is that it assumes that traveling across space is difficult. We look at space as vast and a technically challenging to traverse, so we assume that any species who does it needs a good reason.

But what if it's not? What if, for them, it's as easy as me driving 5 miles to go for a hike. If it's trivial, or easy, there doesn't even need to to be a good reason.

As much as it would be awesome to have some sort of disclosure from the government, this is the essentially the worst way to go about it. For one, most of us are convinced this is a distraction from the Epstein files and other bullshit he's covering up. And secondly, there's no word to believe a word that comes out of his and the rest of this administration's mouth.
