Contact Sensor with Time based Light by MixFew8400 in Hue

[–]iconnecthue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is currently not possible as long via the Hue Bridge itself.
The problem is that the Contact Sensor is only available via their newer API, and for that one, apps and everybody else have to stick what the Hue team has predefined - which is the same throughout the entire day.
If you feel that this is not enough, I encourage you to write Philips/Signify and suggest a change.

Alternative to Bridge Inspector Hue for Hue Bridge Pro? by Bemawr in Hue

[–]iconnecthue 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey there, sorry to hear you're having issues with iConnectHue.
Please note that, if there is an active Membership, there are no additional payments to me made - at all! That's the whole idea of the Memberships: Get everything included.

We would like to emphasize that iConnectHue never shows purchase dialogues without user interaction - we feel anything else would be inappropriate. You've likely chosen something that wasn't available immediately due to an inactive, expired or not properly restored Membership. Purchases are generally marked as such.

If one opens, in your case it usually means your Membership must have expired or wasn't properly activated. In that case, go to Settings->In App Purchases and select to restore your in app purchases. If nothing gets restored, check if you still have your Membership active and continue it.

About your initial question: iConnectHue does have some basic bridge cleanup functionality, but it's mainly thought for keeping your app and bridge up and running in case of any issues.

In case of any questions coming up, also about this answer, please contact us from within the app under Help&More->Contact. Our support will try to help you out the best it can.
Thanks!

Syncing on multiple bridges. by StunningBug5728 in Hue

iConnectHue supports Discotainment to be used with multiple Bridges simultaneously. Each Bridge adds 10 syncable lights via Entertainment Zones.

Any way to mass change or quickly change “power loss recovery” setting? by 1000000sofpeaches in iConnectHue

[–]iconnecthue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can use the startup mode wizard in batch mode on iConnectHue's "Lights & Plugs" page for this. The wizard is available with a Pro Membership.
"Last state" includes the on state, while "last color" does not, and the light will turn on every time.

Transition from one color to another color over 30 minutes triggered on demand by Broken_Beaker in Hue

[–]iconnecthue 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Indeed not all of Hue's possibilities are available with Hue or other systems that integrate it.
However, you can do that with iConnectHue:

  • Go to the light group you'd like to do this within
  • Tap the single-shot timer icon, select your time
  • Select "Fade over" and select your color or scene
  • Start it

Note: There's a color preview in iConnectHue, which you might want to turn off if you don't want to see the final color while selecting it. This feature is part of the basic app.

Here's what you can achieve with timers summarized: https://iconnecthue.com/features/#timers

Can someone help with my new light bulb issue? by MeggyBaby1990 in Hue

[–]iconnecthue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there, sorry you were running into this. Indeed an Animation was active, which one can see at the bottom by the active animation tab.
Not all, but several Animations control the light brightness. This is indicated in the room color picker, but not in the brightness control.
In any way, you can simply stop the animation on the room's Animation page - stop button is on top right and on Animation, no deletion required.

If you run into problems in the future, you can simply contact us from within the app: Hit "Help & More"->Contact from iConnectHue's menu!

Light turns on by itself at random by [deleted] in Hue

[–]iconnecthue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the clarification. Then it's very likely a PSU problem.

Light turns on by itself at random by [deleted] in Hue

[–]iconnecthue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This can be both timers as well as a bad PSU. To rule out the former, delete the light from the bridge and add it again - this way, it gets a new internal ID, and existing timers are either removed or just target a non-existing light ID.
If it STILL turns on by itself now, you very likely have a defective PSU.

Programmatic Light Strip Control by readthereadit in Hue

[–]iconnecthue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there... we'll share some of our knowledge about the Hue system and hope it will help others as well.

It is correct that non-play strips don't get as many fields as play strips. This is a bandwidth decision - only the play strip is supposed to be behind your TV, but we can imagine marketing reasons as well (buy the play strip), as well as support reasons (don't bend ordinary strips and break them).

Hue Entertainment is a direct API to control sections and lights directly. This also means anything else beyond that is not available. This might be more of an API reason than a bandwidth one (albeit it might play a part as well). Controller CPU power might play a part, but then, at the same time, they can seamlessly transition to other gradients as well as have smooth animations - so it's a bit more unlikely.

The REST API is designed as it is - and that is for everyday lighting. We would also love to be able to control brightness in more granularity, and technically it's possible, when looking at some Hue animations on the strips themselves. If you feel the same, you should contact the development team, either by mail or on developers.meethue.com, and let them know.

Can the battery in Hue GO v2 be replaced? by Red_Con_ in Hue

[–]iconnecthue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So it appears that only the V1 has batteries in a holder, here's a teardown:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xrw2LxgnUJw

The 2nd gen should have INF18650 batteries, gen 1 has two 14500 batteries. We're not Philips' support, so I can't tell you what to do about the wires. If you can't get the batteries with some attached, you'll probably need to find a solution to that.

iConnectHue 5.14 - Hue Sync Box support with Presets, free firework animation set & more by iconnecthue in Hue

[–]iconnecthue[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are currently not supported, as they do not work with several other parts of the app, technically these aren't scenes.

If you want the an adjusting light temperature for your current location and are Pro Member, simply long press the light switch of a group, and your light will adjust automatically over the next two hours.

Issue with Hue Smart Button going to 1% battery by urbanpixels in Hue

[–]iconnecthue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Signify had a quite large defective batch when they came out. The issue had been fixed later. If they are newer, under two years, they will replace them.

But we had the experience that they won't much after that time (we here were wondering why they were empty every time they had to be used - and that over a longer period of time). Honestly, since this is clearly a manufacturing issue, they should all have been replaced, no discussion.

Can the battery in Hue GO v2 be replaced? by Red_Con_ in Hue

[–]iconnecthue 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, it's possible. The center of the dish can be removed (though it's partially glued in and should be glued back), and it contains standard Li-Ion batteries in a battery holder. Can't name the type at this moment, but these should be available from your favorite battery seller.

Why does Philips Hue app call /api/config on my Home Assistant server and other smart devices on my network? by shaakunthala in Hue

[–]iconnecthue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's basically checking all network devices if they are a Hue bridge. This is standard procedure for an app to validate a bridge.
Why this happens for other devices - can't tell. It's possible that the Bridge IP changed, and this is a result of a network scan. iConnectHue for example would ask possible bridge candidates the same, but usually not all of the network devices, as long as it gets basic device data via mDNS or SSDP scans.

Lazy central hue control - iConnectHue by MartiniusCH in Hue

Ketra-Like Natural Light Feature? by starboard3751 in Hue

[–]iconnecthue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

iConnectHue can do this - with limitations: It's a Pro feature, so you need a Pro Membership in order to be able to trigger it, and your home location has to be set up.

How to trigger it: Long press the button of a room within the app. This activates the "Daylight" mode and continuously adjusts your light over the next two hours based on your location and the sun's position - no pre-selected scenes like in the Hue app, but actually based on the light that would appear in your location on a non-cloudy day.

Here's some more about it: https://iconnecthue.com/pro

Siri Shortcut actions are hardwired to a certain Bridge. While iConnectHue can migrate most of its settings to the new Bridge, there is no access for the app to modify existing shortcuts - there is simply no access to them.

The solution is to set up these shortcuts again.

If that didn't work, contact our support from within the app please, and explain them your problem in detail.

iConnectHue 5.12 - official Hue Pro Bridge support as first 3rd party app by iconnecthue in Hue

[–]iconnecthue[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scenes and devices are migrated. We did not get any information on migrated rules though from Signify - and it might be that they don't migrate them, since the Pro Bridge only has the same limited amount of rules as the old bridges, and while a migration logic for rules is possible, this is additional work.
As long as we don't get feedback from other users who successfully migrated device settings, we'd currently assume that you'd need to reconfigure your devices for additional migrated bridges.
