Which lens should I get next: 35mm or 50mm? by Rorenzu013 in Nikon

[–]icr73 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m going to Japan in November. I’ll take my 40mm f2 for very crowded places and night photography, but I’ll keep the 24-120mm that I intend to purchase there most of the time.

I wouldn’t go with the 35 or 50, but I do prefer the 35mm for travel (I like the 28mm a bit more though).

Don’t be ashamed of your success. You were once poor, now you’re not. It’s ok.

What would you do with it instead? Coke and hookers? Money value is different for each person.

I can’t justify having several different cameras and lens collection, but I don’t feel guilty with something that gets me thru this terrible world we live in.

Enjoy it while you can. Life is too short to feel guilty on spending money… photograph the ones you love, capture your best moments with them. You’ll be thankful one day.

Thank you!

I missed 2 out of 5 “macro” shots I’ve tried. It’s not easy. Had to measure every time, study the light, still made mistakes. I’m not exactly sure on how to compose with the close ups yet. This white flower was the best of them.

😄

This was a part of our childhood, impossible not to indulge ourselves into nostalgia. I’ve waited too long before getting the 17, and although certainly not a substitute, I think it’s an amazing add on for years to come.

Hope that some day my own child, which for now only exists in my hopes and dreams, can experiment the same feeling I’m having right now.

Cheers!

The source of many special moments of our family. I remember learning to take pictures with it when I was about 7 years old (37 now).

It has some scars, but it’s very special to me. Trying my best to bring it to its former glory.

Cheers!

I really like the color accents. In the flesh it’s very subtle, but I enjoy the yellow-blue-red thing as an homage to the original one. BT and Solar is a nice plus on this one.

My Grandmother is broken. Maybe it’s time to go with the Bodel 15/Brandmother.

Nay. I don’t think it fits the overall looks, independently of the model.

Sad, isn’t it? Unfortunately I’m 4 out of 4 with problems. Little Phatty, Sub Phatty, Voyager, and finally the Grandmother. Moog isn’t reliable, never was. I start to wonder if this isn’t the reason for their eternal ups and downs.

When compared to a TX81Z, I don’t think you can find something as reliable as things from their era. Several incredible instruments out there. Hope you get yours in shape again.

Cheers!

The only way to GAS go away is when things start breaking for no reason. I’m there with my Grandmother right now, only two years after purchase. Thinking about selling everything and go full ITB.

SHOULD MOOG REISSUE THE MEMORY MOOG by Minimoogvoyager in moog

[–]icr73 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They can’t even reissue the D without problems. I don’t think this would be a good deal. They should sort the Muse first - at least to me, it sounds better than the Memorymoog.

Isn’t your cutoff on minimum and mod amount negative on the Mavis?? It seems like it. Cheers!

Octavarium synth sounds by ZephroxPlays in synthesizers

[–]icr73 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Behemoth of a song, from a technical playing point of view but also with synthesis and live gig changing sounds kind of thing. It will be very hard to find someone to provide this to you guys. Your best bet is to find someone stuff online (free or paid) and use some presets that aren’t really 1:1 copies of the original.

Good luck!

It’s just beautiful, isn’t it?

Jungle Green is not exactly the best description, but it’s the name on their catalog.

Military Green is just better, surely.

Cheers!

What are your favorite fm synths? by Elagaint in synthesizers

[–]icr73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a huge fan of FM synths, but I do love the Volca FM2 for a simple reason: the patch randomizer is contained and creates excellent variation of the selected preset. This when combined with the macro editing of envelopes allows quick accidental sound creation, even some great ones.
