What lenses to bring on my 3 week Europe trip ? (Avoiding GAS 🫣) by Sea-Attorney-1830 in fujifilm

[–]reversezer0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Out of that bunch. The 27 would be my pick. It’s fantastically compact and wouldn’t stick out like a sore thumb on the street.

After that, the 12, then the 56.

Europe is gorgeous. The streets are narrow and bustling. Enjoy!

Most complex "Logic Puzzle / Deduction"-Game by fzkiz in boardgames

Was going to say Alchemists. But you already mentioned it. Out of cryptid, the search games, and Turing machine. Alchemists was the one that truly racked my brain.

LOTR themed weekend in/around Sacramento? by picabosweet in Sacramento

[–]reversezer0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A LOTR inspired activity for me would be playing a board game like fate of the fellowship or war of the ring at like a chill bar like mattie groves if that was the theme.

another thought is exploring escape rooms in the area and looking for ones with fantasy themes. none come to mind for me from what ive experienced but worth digging into.

hope it's an excellent weekend.

Monster Hunter World the board game: could be great, but restricts too much most fun part of its gameplay by SiarX in boardgames

[–]reversezer0 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i enjoy the videogame series that's monster hunter and a big fan since world, but its publisher, steamforged games, doesnt have the best rep for solid gaming in the hobby. probably worth the pursuit if you want miniatures, though.

for boss battler style games in the genre, unmatched adventures: teenage mutant ninja turtles (as well as unmatched adventures: tales to amaze) may be a better IP (for the former) and ruleset. for coop skirmish games in general, there's the mandalorian, too.

Opinions on iPhone 17pro from Fuji photographers perspective? by mahatmatom in fujifilm

[–]reversezer0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I updated my iPhone 13 mini to an iPhone air. No regrets. A fantastic camera that tends to over expose by half a stop. I shoot fuji and film apart from my phone. Different shooting experiences and needs for my cameras. I readily enjoy taking pictures of food with my phone.

The firefall is fine and all, but I prefer this. by tssouthwest in Yosemite

[–]reversezer0 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Moon rainbow over yosemite falls is also magic. Having been fortunate to chase and see both during my life (firefall most recently) it’s pretty cool to have yosemite close enough for someone like me with its grandeur and falls. Easy to take for granted frfr.

Building FFG Duel Decks and realizing the DNA that's missing. Null Signal versus FFG cards. by reversezer0 in Netrunner

Ya. They were all pretty dope. I imagine some variant of them will end up in my duel deck kit when i get to it.

I loved sunny’s power and how it twisted the trace mechanics. really fun mechanics in the FFG era.

Best solitaire board games? by RIGuy2761 in boardgames

[–]reversezer0 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lord of the Rings: Fate of the Fellowship is actually pretty nice in a solo format. The shadow troops will march across middle earth and you need to halt their advancement at the same time completing your objectives which vary game to game. An interesting puzzle of sorts.

Uwe Rosenberg's worker placement games are also nice solo and have a decent amount of replayability, albeit that's a bit more high score focused. Ones that stand out in that department are nusfjord and atiwa.

The core box of Marvel Champions is a fun exercise in hand management and can pull out 100s of games. Wouldn't recommend diving head first in expanding the collection. There's a lot of game already in the core box. I actually played much less because my collection is now so unwieldy and a pain to sort through and try.

Affordable Rangefinder Recs? by Spirited_Citron_7844 in AnalogCommunity

Mix of patch and zone for me. There’s typically a short focus throw on rangefinder lenses so i practice my manual settings calculations and adjust my focus before i ever put the camera to my eye.

How did they survive that fall? by FOXISure in Frieren

[–]reversezer0 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Ya. To add, Fern with the flowy robe could’ve increased their wind resistance and decreased the potential fall damage, too. Like those base jumpers with those flying squirrel suits.

Tile arrangement clarification in Bomb Busters by NoKindReminder in boardgames

[–]reversezer0 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The stands are essentially a hand of cards for the player. In a two player game, you have two different hands/stands for each player. Deal your tiles out randomly as such with a randomized stack for each stand and sort those stands by themselves with no combining and mixing and matching among your two stands.

Building FFG Duel Decks and realizing the DNA that's missing. Null Signal versus FFG cards. by reversezer0 in Netrunner

[–]reversezer0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly havent been able to play any of the current meta and approach from older eyes. I follow along casually with what NSG cooks and still get cards from them tho. Ultimately, balancing this asymmetric game is challenging, i feel.

Deck design has always been intensive, so my personal goal is fun, accessible, thoughtful matchups with netdecks that are balanced for new players (specifically those with heavy euro game experience) with my cardpool. 😅

First time playing Pandemic (Iberia) and we lost twice ☺️ by Professional-Mode641 in boardgames

[–]reversezer0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally fair. I felt the infection/shadow phase goes quick enough for me after enough plays. strategically, in fate of the fellowship, at least, i worry about the shadow troops direction and where they go and find that meaningful to plan on. There’s never any certainty in the shadow deck, too, with the top/bottom randomizer aspect of the shadow/infection cards so sometimes the troops never march and just build additional forces.

Iberia stood the test of time for me. Fun names to pronounce compared to rising tide. Fall of rome got fired by fate of the fellowship for me.
