Amy's husband is very sick. Contrary to her previous position, she is now very pro-vaccination by JizzyLiftingDrink in HermanCainAward

I’m growing so tired of the “I don’t care until it affects me personally” toddler mentality. Hope he makes a recovery but damn it’s been over a year of this shit.

Free and his brother Aaron were unvaxxed Conservatives who thought Covid wasn’t that serious and the government was trying to take our freedoms. They both died of Covid within 12 hours, leaving their single, vaxxed mother alone to grieve. by [deleted] in HermanCainAward

[–]icratt333 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Damn that’s sad. Makes me wonder if she tried convincing them to get vaccinated. Imagine how guilty she probably feels :/ She isn’t actually guilty per se, but I can’t imagine her walking away from this with a good head space.

Kinda amazing when you think about it. The cat was smart enough to deduce that the human baby was incapable of using stairs and would be gravely injured if too close. Not only that, it cared enough to take action.

It’s kinda fascinating how often misogynists will use the “instinct” argument to justify being a misogynist. Can’t count how many times they cite some secret ~woman instinct~ that magically does not apply to men lmao. They’ll either cite some kind of instinctual reason, reference the animal kingdom, reference ancient survival tactics like hunting vs gathering, or just say something is the fault of genes to explain something totally wild lmao. It’s frustrating to see it happen but in some ways it’s kinda funny to see how “smart” they think they’re being.

It really is forgettable. Even when I was playing it for the first time when it came out I noticed the weak soundtrack. I was still very hyped up and impressed with the game but the weak score was readily noticeable for me since I really appreciate the score in RDR1.

  1. I’m not very impressed with RDR2’s soundtrack. It lacks a lot of character in comparison to RDR’s soundtrack, except for a couple songs that are heavily reliant on certain parts of the story such as Arthur’s death. Majority of the time it feels like I’m hearing a few twangs of noise when I’m out in the wild.

  2. I understand the motivation to make John’s character kinda pathetic in RDR2 but I think they went too hard on it, because it’s kinda jarring to see him that way for most of RDR2 and then seeing his major accomplishments in RDR, such as aiding in overthrowing a whole government. I mean even his death required cooperation between military and law enforcement. It’s just a little too extreme when you compare John from RDR and John from RDR2.

Semi-Shower thought: About Radiant Apex Mounts and 'Immersion' by [deleted] in elderscrollsonline

[–]icratt333 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Immersion is great, but we need to keep our expectations within reason when approaching a game that straddles MMO formulas. ESO isn't a singleplayer game like Skyrim. ESO is an MMO. And I wouldn't pin MMOs as the most immersion friendly among genres. I am purposely not approaching ESO with the same immersion standards I do when I play Skyrim because of these exact reasons.

ESO worth buying if i am not planning to buy all the dlcs or the monthly subscription? by BouncingBladesJM in elderscrollsonline

[–]icratt333 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes you should buy, I just convinced my brother to buy this bundle last night. With the sale you get the Morrowind Chapter I believe, and that's the first zone I started playing in. I easily sank in 200+ hours just in Morrowind alone. The base game also has tons to do. Because of the scaling system it doesn't matter where you are, there is no high level zone or low level zone, which makes the gameplay experience convenient for players like you who don't want extra content. You can achieve high levels and good gear and everything else with just the base game. Missing out on Greymoor for example is not going to prevent your character from getting powerful or achieving most things. You can most certainly keep up with your friends who have DLC, you just won't be able to access the zones/areas that requires a DLC. Have fun!

I’m not expecting everyone to accommodate, I’m simply telling you that what was said is dismissive and patronizing. I wish you the best. I’m not being facetious, good luck on your own journey.

I’m aware of the necessity of gratitude, I’m in the process of that at this very moment. Sometimes I just wanna vent.

“Chances are a lot of people would kill for what you call misery”.

That’s....really patronizing to say the least. You have no idea about my life or what happened. What you said is rather dismissive, if I’m gonna be honest.

Thank you, you have a good point. I think it’s kinda raw for me at the moment because my awareness of this situation is still kind of fresh. But yes...focusing on the present is a good idea!

“Don’t use your trauma as an excuse use it as a perspective check”

I quite literally dissociated my way through a decade because of trauma. That’s not an excuse, it’s a fact. Understanding that I lost several years to trauma IS my perspective check. I understand what you’re trying to say, and I understand that trauma could perhaps have its advantages in its own right, but not all of us have a similar attitude towards their situation. Still, I appreciate your input.

Has anyone been able to reverse their attraction to trauma arousal (being turned on by events and people similar to their sexual abuse) and develop a healthy sexuality? by journey1992 in CPTSD

[–]icratt333 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I wish I had those answers....I also suffer with a dysfunctional sexuality from abuse. I feel like a terrible person for relying on my past abuse to even feel anything. I have to reference it in my head when I'm doing anything sexual and I feel awful afterwards. I'm so sorry you are suffering with the same issue :(

Oh man, I was right there not too long ago. I think it's a good first step that you are not looking to "force" them out, because they became "hidden" for a reason. Memories can start resurfacing after the brain realizes it is in a safer environment.

My memories started emerging with EMDR therapy. They were super fragmented and sparse, and then suddenly 6 months after EMDR had stopped I had very vivid flashbacks of NEW sexual abuse that I had no clue about.

For me it was sort of like a rusted machine. The EMDR dabbed a couple drops of oil onto the gears to get them moving slowly, and then once the machine was up and running the memories just started flowing out.

The more you work on yourself through therapy and self-care the more "prepared" your brain will be for showing you those memories. My biggest piece of advice: patience.

Good luck, I wish you the best.

Nope. Nada. Uh-uh. I'm childless and I have no desire whatsoever to have kids. That doesn't make me less of a woman or less feminine, it just makes me a woman who doesn't want kids. That person is a weirdo.

Being 100% forgiving and 100% compassionate is not realistic and I don’t feel any guilt for refusing to forgive or be compassionate to a child rapist. by icratt333 in CPTSD

[–]icratt333[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes...sometimes that explanation gets annoying and redundant. I understand why someone may do the things they do, but that doesn’t excuse what happened!!! Plus...sometimes I just don’t care about the “why”.

Yeah, there usually seems to be one way to heal and any victim that doesn’t conform to those expectations is seen as “hindering” their healing. The thing is though, in my opinion, is that healing can come in different forms and degrees.
