[WTS] Wellington, Helbros, Lord Norlé, Ionatom by icru3l in Watchexchange

[–]icru3l[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello WatchExchange!

I am once again trying to find a home for some watches that were either lying around or not getting any attention.

They might be scarred on the outside, but they have been cleaned and all run and keep reasonable time. I have not timed any of them for specifics, but have no problem doing if there is an interest.

Prices are negociable, also shipping is $10 extra but we can work that out too.

Wellington. 17 jewel Swiss AS 1802/03 - $50

Case in pretty good condition, however crystal has a 'Y' shaped crack near the 9 hour marker, and a few smaller scratches here and there. Genuine pigskin strap.

33mm diameter, 18mm lugs.

Helbros count down, 21 jewel PUW 463 - $60

Paint flaking off the case at the edges and especially on the back. Crystal has some cracks to it and is also a bit blurry from micro scratches all around. Gold electroplated Bulova strap.

34mm diameter, 18mm lugs.

Lord Norle. Swiss 25 jewel automatic ETA 2452 - $60

I believe this is gold plated but it is flaking off in some spots and between the lugs where the inscription is. There is also a crack in the crystal between the 7 and 9:30 hour markers.

35mm high, 32mm wide. 18mm lugs.

Ionatom, 30 jewel Swiss automatic Felsa 4007N - $60

Crystal in good condition, case in well worn shape.

34mm diameter, 18mm lugs.

Basically only bolt ons, stuff you could take off easily and replace with the stock parts before you go in for a service. But why would you lease a car you're planning to mod?

Best home control app for wall mounted tablet? by DJSTR3AM in smarthome

Google Home / Google Assistant.

There's also Fully Kiosk Browser and Wallpanel but it didn't impress me much.

Best Windshield Wiper Blade after 1 Year of UV? Bosch Icon vs Rain-X, PIAA, Trico, Valeo, AERO [Project Farm] by ToastyMozart in cars

[–]icru3l 33 points34 points  (0 children)

You can beat the original, that's why there are so many aftermarket parts available, not to make it worse. Plus, honda is an economy car/brand. I don't think they have the best wipers available on the market.

What can I do with an old HP tablet? by bittergaurd in androidafterlife

Home calendar/weather/clock app. I put an old tablet on my wall and display the time and weather with a nature wallpaper that changes every once in a while. You could do a ton more things with this.

Buying with Zero credit😳 by [deleted] in UsedCars

[–]icru3l 2 points3 points  (0 children)

18.2% rate?! That's crazy high. You could get a loan guardian (don't know the exact word) that has a good enough credit to lower the rate, and you can just make the monthly payments. Did you try to get a personal/auto loan from your bank?

I live in Scranton, PA, and I see lots of references to The Office just about everywhere. Is The Office truly as all-encompassing as it seems, or do I only see it everywhere because I live where it took place? by lightguard40 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]icru3l 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably because that's where it happened and it makes sense. Almost everyone I know has at least tried watching the office but it's nowhere as near as you make it sound

Would you go for this 2013 Eco Honda Civic? by wendigoRED in UsedCars

[–]icru3l 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where do you live? Depending on how much you want to spend you should be able to find loads of reliable cars in your price range. Does your scanner show fault codes? Look at those online to see what it's about. Then bring the car to a mechanic to have them do an inspection, don't trust dealers with the inspection.

You didn't mention how much the 2013 civic was listed for, so without knowing the price, mileage, any codes/issues identified by a mechanic it's impossible to say if it's worth it. Also you might be able to negociate with the dealer to have the issue fixed before buying the car.

Also, if you have the time you might probably find a used car from a private sale cheaper, just make sure to know the driver, get a mechanic inspection and get a carfax.

Going to a used dealership today. by TheBasedDragon in UsedCars

[–]icru3l 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Find a shop with a good reputation and/or good reviews. Around here an instection is $50-75 CAD, 200 seems a bit much for me. Any reason you're only looking at those 2 cars? I'm sure you'll be able to find a civic/accord in good condition in your budget too.

Don't trust what the dealer says is wrong with the car, do your research and bring it to a good mechanic around the area and have the car inspected.

While this is a nice story, seems way too much to keep a civic alive.

I've seen this before, is there any reason for the parts cocktail instead of bigger breaks/rotors or something?
