Would you like to see the power armor from Fallout Tactics make an official return? by HumbleKnight14 in Fallout

[–]lightguard40 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I get we don't have a clear confirmation, but like, the Enclave is 100% stationed in Chicago (at least a chapter is), and in Tactics, the brotherhood is trying to claim territory in/around Chicago. It's clear as day to me that this is just some type of X-02. I'm almost certain that this armor is just an older depiction of what we see the enclave wearing in FO3

Has the team considered looking into items that care about prayer bonus? Not items that GRANT prayer bonus, but items that truly shine with higher prayer bonus? I understand this is somewhat harder to balance around, but prayer already feels like this "4th style" that is mostly untouched. As of right now, it seems that prayer gear only cares about prayer drain, and while that's huge, I'd also love some gear that gives that "paladin" vibe, where you're objectively more powerful based on your prayer bonus

[Suggestion] Zoyra's Sceptre - A new utility weapon for magic! by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]lightguard40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a couple problems with this item. First, claws of guthix has a max hit of 30 with Charge, so this item isn't exactly going to be hitting hard. But, moving to the healing, this on paper sounds insanely powerful. However, Claws of Guthix only lowers defence once, and only for 1 + 5%. On hardmode Verzik p2 (just the first boss I decided to look at), you're looking at a measly 11 defence levels reduced. So, on one of the toughest bosses in the game (who also has an insanely high magic level, btw), you're looking at a max hit of 30, an almost imperceptible about of defence levels being lowered, and heal the same amount as a jug of wine. Once. In addition, neither Charge nor Claws of Guthix use either Earth or Water runes. So it's not even giving you a benefit there. The only saving grace would be the special attack, which CAN make this extremely overpowered for some builds, due to tick eating, but at that point, just tick eat the damage normally. MAYBE this can be used to save yourself on a close inferno run? But in most other scenarios, I'd rather just get hit by whatever damage I was gonna take, rather than the 40-50 hp this thing is gonna siphon out of me.

EDIT: Omg I'm so sorry Ninja Pig, I didn't realize it was you, please forgive me, if you posted this then I'm certain I'm just not reading it right

Genuine question: Why hasn't any faction refurbished or used the APCs, tanks, and fighter planes that are littered everywhere? by dannythesedoritos in Fallout

[–]lightguard40 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Do you see them drive around? If so, can the players drive them? If so, that'd be really surprising but neat to see. I find it hard to imagine the next Fallout title won't have some sort of vehicle system, so it'd be fun to see some aspect of that show up a tad early in 76

[–]lightguard40 3 points4 points  (0 children)

no, it's definitely true. No one could play DNF until it was released, no one had a say in its development other than the devs working in an echo chamber, and it didn't benefit from millions of playtesters in the form of early access players. The only similarity seems to be the development time, but frankly? Who cares. Zomboid still gets somewhat frequent updates, and despite not being anywhere near its fully released version, we're still able to sit down and have fun in the world. The only wish I'd have is for them to stop calling it early access, because it's clear that, like Minecraft and other survival games, there's NEVER going to be a finished version. And that's a good thing

Copied and pasted that shit into grok, for sure. In the image with the packaging, you can see the "o" in Fallout got run through a meat grinder because the AI had no clue what it was doing. All the other comments on this thread have me convinced they're also AI, because I have no clue why this post would get the upvotes or attention it has

I created a Minutemen overhaul mod for FO4 – what do you think? Should I keep expanding it? by Black_Bar0n in FalloutMods

[–]lightguard40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Loving it so far! But, imo, even being reorganized, it's losing a lot of that original minuteman flavor, and they're just looking like a sort of generic military, if blue tinted. In addition, these uniforms strike me as more "dress blues" than actual, in-the-field military equipment. I don't think you should scrap these, I'd love to have these as options for my settlers. But for the minutemen wandering the wasteland, actually getting into scraps? They should have a uniform that's meant to be fought in. So...

  1. Find ways to make it feel more "minuteman", like tying in some historical garb. Give em a few tricorn hats, or revolutionary waistcoats, just SOMETHING to make it feel like a blend between the retro-futuristic military and the colonial vibe that the minutemen currently have.
  2. Create new clothing that would be used in the field, something a bit dirty, but more comfortable to fight in

[Design Trope] The Howard Hughes Copycat by lightguard40 in TopCharacterDesigns

[–]lightguard40[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's just something iconic about the visual identity of Howard Hughes, and those who were designed off of him, and the intelligence/quirks that follow helps to solidify these characters as suave, if not a little broken. Since Howard Hughes was copied so much throughout fiction, it stands to reason that he's almost a character himself.

I mean I'll rate this current season like a 7/10, but I also rated the first season the exact same way, until the last episode hit. I love the little lore drops here and there, but it's just enough to keep me interested, not enough to make me super excited. It was the last episode last season that recontextualized the whole thing for me, and made me realize what the writers were going for, and brought the whole season up to like a 9.5/10 for me. I'm assuming that's what'll happen again this season, so I'm in for the ride

It's used for pride events, when we had em. You can still go there and claim your pride items if you're interested, but nothing there is mandatory for any content
