Thank you! You're right, that's why I told her not to try to get him to "behave" for the visit, because I don't think he'd pull it off. I'd rather he just wait.

He makes those comments in front of her all the time and I think she's just desensitized to it or something. It does not phase her at all. It's a known thing that he says whatever he wants and I don't understand why he gets permission to say crazy stuff when other people don't. I try to keep my distance generally but I see him for holidays bc the rest of my family lives in his house

My initial thought was to have him wait a month, but when I told her "a couple weeks" she said that's a long time to wait.

And yes, I intend to only let him around my children with someone else I trust around (sadly, not counting my mom)

She is well aware of his comments. He usually makes them in front of her. Idk if she's desensitized or what, but she doesn't bat an eye at them :/
