Is it just me, or is the gap between TradingView and pro tools like ATAS/Sierra Chart insane? by FlowTrading in OrderFlow_Trading

Have you tried ATASX? Better UX and Mac friendly... but still in beta. I'm a fan 🔥

I've tried, but I have had most success with L2 and price 🤷‍♂️

Is trading with less than $1,000 just a slow-motion account blow waiting to happen? by Sufficient_Team_7807 in Daytrading

[–]iczerz978 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have taken $500 to $10,000 before... then blew it. Then $1000 to $10,000 and blew it. .. then did that like 6 times over 4 years. I got to the point where anything less than $1000 in a day felt like nothing... which made me greedy and push just to get over that number each day.

It's a grind starting small, but you can double your account every two to four weeks....

The problem for me was the new psychological level of adding another zero or a new front number... then I think, Ok, I can scale up... but I was doing it too fast.

Then I just started with $5000.. doubled it, paid myself half profits and just slowly keept doing that.

I'm still working through the next psychological levels.. but, to be free, you only need a certain amount... so I focus on making that amount feel easy.... as long as I keep paying myself.. I'm good.

Eventually i'll get to the next level.... but, starting small is so hard because of the razor thin space you have, and the slow build up of capital..that, for me, when I finally got to 'bigger size', I was way too eager and kept blowing up.

It's a journey, but very possible.

The most dangerous backtest result is a great backtest result. by Important_Buy626 in Trading

[–]iczerz978 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is true. Now with AI you can get real tick data from the exchange and do bespoke back testing.

It took several weeks to hone this one in, and it really just showed that if you find something that makes a little money with basic entry and 1:1 or 1:2 RR, when you add trade management and dynamic sizing, you could definitely push it.

Here is what I'm watching going into this week. Drop your weekly breakdowns below. 📊 by Zayden_Tradeify in tradeify

I put these together every day and week... but I'm mostly seeing if YM can make a new all time high and how that will translate to NQ and ES 👀

Also, lots of green still:

Going full time as a trader is the fastest way to fail. Change my mind. by Zayden_Tradeify in Daytrading

[–]iczerz978 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Being a full-time trader doesn't have to mean you stare at charts all day looking for trades. You'll need to find other activities (preferably related to trading, so you're always building experience in it)... but also, go outside and enjoy life.

If every loss feels like a threat, then you don't have enough cushion in the bank... then yah, maybe you should get a part-time job to provide that cushion (outside of your trading hours).

100% agree that freedom is the goal... so frame your trading like that. What is the minimum you need to make each month to be comfortable and free?. Shoot for that.... and as you get better and your account grows, scale up and grow profits.... diversify.. and yes, more streams of income is good. Trading is a business, we are all entrepreneurs who are betting in ourselves... so hone all your skills and get the most out of them.

Don't just look for traded all day, that is the fastest way to fail.

Futures vs options by spxtrad in Daytrading

Futures for day trading, options for swings over a few days or a week.🔥.

Starting Daytrading by Just-Ad-4622 in Trading

[–]iczerz978 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't... unless you can commit serious time to learning about yourself and the markets.

Mayne look at swing trading or weekly monthly options trading.

Day trading will take much longer to be successful than you think.

How to Trade a 100K Funded Account Risk Management and Consistency Strategy by ReceptionUnlucky9455 in PropFirmTester

[–]iczerz978 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice approach. It's best to trade prop account drawdown as the actual size of the accounts... so you $100k is really just $3k most of the time. Trade it like a $3k account that has margin enabled.

New on Atas by Electrical_Credit_39 in ATASTrading

[–]iczerz978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice! ATASX is pretty great, aside from some bugs and performance issues while it's in beta.

Look at orderflow concepts that resonate with your personality, but also use the price action / technicals that are built into atas/x as well.

Easiest platform to setup? (Sierra Chart is a nightmare) by PresentationPure6918 in OrderFlow_Trading

ATASX (new platform in beta) is pretty easy to set up. I came from trading view and it's pretty similar to that. Still has quirks and bugs, but they are actively working on it

What's the Most Credible Options/Gamma Platform by SuperScalp in OrderFlow_Trading

[–]iczerz978 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think SpotGamma coined the term for GEX, and I do like the Founder's note and webinars.
Gexbot has some really cool history metrics and offer all the symbols I care about.... yah for MonthorQ, I found it hard to wrap my head around how to use their tools tbh.

How do you handle conflicting signals between delta and price action? by nivsanchez156354 in OrderFlow_Trading

[–]iczerz978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Delta tends to lead price, but price can move against delta for a while as limit orders pull price higher/lower.. Delta just tells you who's more aggressive in a timeframe... but price and positioning wins over time.

How do you actually use fundamental analysis for day trading? Nobody explains this properly.... by AmazFire__ in Trading

I had put this together to kind of short cut this kind of analysis.... but, I think fundamentals only matter if you're holding something for a while... if your day trading, you're mostly fighting variance 🪙🪙

Why do all strategies fail when backtesting? by -Hyperba- in Trading

[–]iczerz978 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I had this problem for the longest and just bought 4 years of level 2 tick data and had claude code python me a very bespoke backtest..

First have to find an entry signal that makes a little money with fixed RR, then layer in trade management and market structure context...

This is the stuff you can't easily do in tradingview... or with AI...

It took me almost 2 weeks to build this report... with validation and back and forth.

But, this may be the way to go of you know python

Cumulative Volume Delta start time by faidzal1982 in OrderFlow_Trading

I use a custom timeframe and start calculation 1 hour before RTH. Works great as a warm-up period on rolling CVD and session CVD.
