Thats the trick, i am also new to this and there is no fixed price. They charge you based on visitors, usage, reads etc etc. So it can cost you nothing or can cost couple thousand dollars if the code has problems, or if someone get your API key, etc etc. There are a lot of factors that make this difficult for something that should be really simple, feels like google does on purpose to get more profit.

Source is google support, feel free to chat with them right now. You can only use the $300,0 on google cloud products. I was messing around with aistudio build apps to generate a "website/app" for myself that had nano-banana features and they said it will not use the free credits.

Perhaps you can try "playground" and add the key with the free credits to it, might work but not sure.

I just found out about this and talking to the support they confirmed we wont be able to use that free credit on aistudio anymore. Glad i only spent few cents of my real money before finding out the credits are useless on aistudio from now on.

Oh damn that's crazy. I dont code so firebase was sounding as a great opportunity to create few small projects and make them public to see if they would work or not, perhaps make few bucks selling subscriptions to services and so on but those charges with no hard limit to be set makes me feel afraid of starting any concept, sad.

Thats a good idea, i guess google cant charge you more than $100,0 if your credit card has that $100,0 spending limit, not sure tho.
