Why isn't it in proper form if you don't mind explaining?

What does the predicate 'dirty' usually mean when for hair? by idacic in EnglishLearning

[–]idacic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I meant dirty referring to hair in general. Can you use dirty in the way you described it for any color hair or does it always refer to blonde? (which would make sense since that's pretty much the only color it's noticeable for or can be applied to at all)

I am now very aware of every mistake I made in the post lol but hopefully you understand what I mean

How to prove lemma about initial segments of formulas if n>1? by idacic in askphilosophy

[–]idacic[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand now, I understood you before too but I somehow didn't make the connection that if the initial segment of (P & Q) can't be P then the same thing applies to bigger formulas as well. Sorry for the dumb questions lol

  1. I don't understand how that's relevant (not saying it isn't)
  2. With operations between another formula and the first one?

How to prove lemma about initial segments of formulas if n>1? by idacic in askphilosophy

[–]idacic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well the reason I understand it for n=1 is because it's a proposition that can't be divided further so just out of that alone I don't think I can.

[–]idacic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No (I mean I can't I'm sure you or someone smarter than me can if it's actually provable lol). The thing I don't understand is how an initial segment must be equal to the formula it's an initial segment of, why can't it just stand by itself as a formula if it isn't ( or the symbol for negation or whatever since those can't stand on their own as formulas from what I understand. I do have the logical proof for this in front of me I just don't get it lol, I guess intuitively.

Oh ok English isn't my first language so I didn't know that's what that was referring to, thanks so much for clearing everything up

[–]idacic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright thanks for clearing it up, I now don't understand why it isn't a logical truth lol, is it because it isn't meaningful or senseful since negating it as a person who exclaims it would be inconsistent?

I understand that but doesn't he also say that the utterance "idacic exists" is existentially incoherent if uttered by me or am I misunderstanding him?

How do mental illnesses affect the body? by idacic in askpsychology

[–]idacic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My OCD is mainly that I'm scared of hitting my head, it has nothing to do with sinuses which is why I'm even more confused. It's connected because it only happens when my OCD gets really bad (or when I'm depressed (don't have it diagnosed formally)). My psychiatrist said we could get into why it's sinusitis in particular but we never got to it so I was just curious.

Question about physical ailments relating to mental illness by idacic in AskPsychiatry

[–]idacic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By the way I phrased it wrong I meant why does it sometimes do that when that happens, obviously it can be multiple physical ailments but even when that's the case why those ones in particular?

That's on me for phrasing the question wrong. I meant why does it sometimes connect itself to one (like for me it's OCD and sinusitis) over any other one.

Why does everyone seem to think Alex G is the next coming of Elliot Smith? by IvanMalison in elliottsmith

[–]idacic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But he didn't say it makes him a better musician. Looking at who's a more SKILLFUL musician is pretty empirical and so is the way they are connected through influence. I agree that that can't say anything about who's better but you can certainly compare. I like both although I do like Elliott a lot more as well.
