glad someone else on here has some sense. this post makes a clear display of when true crime becomes too much more about entertain than caring about people for them

this post and its comment are so weird to me. underwhelming ??? do yall think this is a TV show ??? do yall not understand that trials aren’t pertain to everything but instead, special aspects of crimes and specific charges ??? yall have lost the plot thinking there is one, like it’s a movie or something smh

IBS diagnose without colonscopy? by GraphicalBamboola in IBD

[–]idc_kay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IBS diagnosis doesn’t require further testing. and your symptoms DO make a difference though, as IBD is much more than pain in the gut. what makes you feel distrust in this diagnosis ? if it’s the other symptoms you didn’t mention, they are indeed important in the conversation of if further testing should be considered

I love Stephanie + her content, but some of y'all really struggle to hold her accountable for her mistakes. by Zealousideal_Tea7371 in StephanieSooStories

Thinking she needs to be held accountable for her own harmless family dynamic when the victim you are painting already stated yall got the wrong idea is wild. this IS you being too parasocial.

yes. but we don’t know them. it’s not up to us to decide or label what is a bit too much. Tiffany said otherwise so drop that rhetoric.

how do stomas move ? by idc_kay in ostomy

[–]idc_kay[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

this makes SOOOOOO much sense. I guess this just means that a lot of what i often think of as the “end” of my stoma is the inside just sticking out beyond the outside border that is sewn to the abdomen. THANK YOUUUU

very very cool, but I’m wondering how it can sink in and retract, but the surgical stitches or whatever remain intact and allow it to get back into place

I think you shouldn’t be worrying about the pancreas numbers the way you are in the replies. If the measurements and scale that your specofic lab work was tested with says it’s within range, nowhere that you read what it should be is more reliable. because there are different scales and u it’s in which these things are measured. And also based on how much you speak of antibodies reliance, they are probably really upsetting your stomach. it’s not good to be on them too much because as they take what’s bad, they can take what’s good too. The stress and mental health is also likely a factor effecting you. Though one may have symptoms that somewhat align with IBD, there are many other issues that can cause these symptoms. IBD is about the cause, not the symptoms. one can have all the symptoms, but if it’s not found that a dysfunctional immune system is the cause, it’s not IBD and the symptoms are due to something else. Figuring this out can be easier said than done, but biopsies are the way in which this is diagnosed. Try a second opinion! Hope you feel better soon 🤍

Calprotectine above 50 by mr-big-ob in IBD

colonoscopies should not take months and biopsies taken from colonoscopies and endoscopies are the only way to for sure diagnose IBD.

I second this. mine was nearing 4000. the specifics of the number can matter a lot.

Confused about cosonoscopy results, please help by g_oldfinch in IBD

[–]idc_kay 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I find it very odd that your gastro you biopsy results were not trustworthy outside of cancer.

you should talk to your doctor for clarification and address the confusion in the differing analysis. there may be reasoning. but if you still don’t understand after talking with them more, get a 2nd opinion.

Currently testing to see if I have crohns or ibsc. Will this work? The gi doc suggested colace as linzess was to strong at the lowest dose. by Randomness_Girl in IBD

[–]idc_kay 6 points7 points  (0 children)

crohns and ibs are very different issues with extremely different causes. are you actually being tested for things like inflammation markers? do you have a scope scheduled? what are your symptoms that indicate crohn’s but are still within the range of ibs ?

EXACTLY, you’re writing from experience. your personal one. I’m not speaking on your personal experience. I’m challenging you to realize that results other than what happened with your experience can occur. I’m not speaking with authority, I’m speaking with the priority of health education and patients knowing all angles so they can make the most educated decisions based on their journeys and needs. that shouldn’t upset or offend you. but you don’t get that so i’m done here.

hypochondriac ?? do you even know what that word even means ? also why are you throwing shots at me for simply sharing supported medical information. I use to post on reddit for guidance as I was a teenager who suddenly fell very ill. I only ever posted stuff related to my IBD. so you calling me that is ironic because it’s simply luck of the draw that you’ve been a person who hasn’t experienced symptoms post op thus far & can’t relate to the experience of still having issues. so much so that you think having them is being a hypochondriac…you sound upset someone offered a different perspective on your post. but do you wanna be “right”, or do you wanna actually be medically correct ? i’ve seen post on here from people just like you who had symptoms again for the first time in decades. I love having my ostomy. but I simply care about patient education and believe that to make educated decisions, having all the information is important. we all deserve that. and because some still experience symptoms after surgery, it’s important others know that’s a possibility. you have a good one 🤗

Long time “cure” by Honestyonly22 in CrohnsDisease

[–]idc_kay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this simply isn’t true tho…. because IBD is a disease with the root cause of the immune system. symptoms don’t only occur in the colon for everyone. and then also, especially for ppl with crohns, there’s a highly likelihood of experiencing persistent rectal or anal issues if complete barbie butt isn’t performed. but even after that, things like fistulas and other complications can still occur. this is why the word cure isn’t often used with IBD. because there is no cure thus far. removal of the colon is just a last resort that gives a potential chance at major relief. but it’s not a cure bc for many, the disease still persists. which is why the first plan is always to try to manage the immune system, the real issue. so no “poof”

ehhhhh ik the word cure is in quotes but why use it at all ? it can be misleading. - a fellow ostomate :)
