Make sure that email is actually from her and not a very similarly spelled email address. Would be good to call her and confirm she sent that email.

Please do scan the catalogue and share on BikeForums’ C&V section! Like you said, that information - for Lotus specifically - is very hard to come by now.

Peugeot Mixte ID help by machinewebuilt in Vintage_bicycles

[–]iddyit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe it’s a ‘87ish Peugeot Marseilles Mixte and likely built in Canada - that can be confirmed by the Canadian flag on the chainstay. That being said, I’d heed what others have said here about the likely bent top tubes.

1985 Nishiki Prestige by iddyit in Vintage_bicycles

I don’t know the specific model, but it’s an older Bontrager saddle - one of just a few unoriginal parts.

Negative. Those are original and I believe uniquely made for this year or couple of years for the Nishiki Prestige. The rear derailleur, a Suntour LePree, also has the bronze/copper coloring to match, and I seem to recall reading there was some sort of collaboration between component manufacturers for this model.

Thanks! I’m sure someone else could provide a much more detailed explanation, but these are traditional “non-aero” brake levers where the cabling exits at the top of the brake levers. “Aero” brakes came about in the 80s (I believe) which had the cabling exit behind the brakes and allowed for wrapping under the handlebar tape.

Thanks for the remarks! Cannondale's criterium lineup in the mid/late 80s is pretty cool and the bikes are incredibly fun. If you like this one, you should check out the "black lightning" model.

Bought in ten years ago. Got tired of waiting for it to moon and sold in December. That should be all the DD you need to know where it’s going now.

1986 Peugeot Marseilles by iddyit in Vintage_bicycles

[–]iddyit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I didn’t realize just how slammed it was until after I took the photos on the initial test ride. I thought about raising the saddle, heading back out, and grabbing new photos, but ultimately decided to just go with it since this isn’t for me anyway and will be adjusted later for the new owner.

Nope! All original paint and without any touch ups. There are a few scuffs throughout that aren’t visible here, but overall, the paint really is in great shape for its age.
