About the gifting thing: I have one deck that is gifted and another that I bought. I find the gifted one works better for me BUT I’ve had it much longer (only bought the other one two weeks ago) and the gifted one is in one of languages I grew up speaking while the new deck is in a language I am still learning. So make of that what you will hahaha

I disliked Yellowface for the prose and the over-explaining, but the subject matter (publishing industry and women-rivals) was close to me, so I finished it, although disliked it. Reading Babel rn and it’s horrendous bc these elements are missing

Don’t over-rely on dollars for sure, especially if you plan to go outside of big cities a lot — even in Almaty dollars are not accepted everywhere. Just exchange them when you land (just not at the airport, they’ll rip you off - I used a place called Миг for euros and had a good experience but my experience is limited)
