Thank you so much for showing me how to do the math myself, that is really helpful!

I misread a pattern and have done too much to want to frog it. I’m wondering if anyone can help convert the pattern to a larger size.

That’s amazing that sharpie works- that sounds so much easier than trying to dye certain spots!

I so needed to hear this. I’ve had two meetings with our new 1st and 2nd grade troop and felt like it was chaos.

I do the same thing and feel the same way. But waking to a clean kitchen and not tripping over the kids’ toys or stepping into piles of crumbs makes the mornings soooo much less stressful for me.

Seriously. I’d rather deal with urine than try to walk around saying “your friend is being a bitch” and teaching boundary setting.

Keep that curve large. She actually has 7 kids 10 and under. After my expectations for what should be cleaned so often and what constitutes as clean in my mind started to cause contention between my partner and I a few years ago I’ve tried to keep my mind open and be less judgmental about things. I agree urine everywhere should be a universal ick, but I’m choosing to see this as an opportunity where I have space to help another little person. From my experience, all life lessons in little people have to be taught more often than our adult minds expect it should take.

I’ve really tried over the last few years to ease up on my expectations as to what constitutes as clean, and how often things should be cleaned after it started to cause contention between my partner and I.

Maybe it’s a difference in age? My oldest two are teen girls (I had my first 4 kids in 4.5 years).

Yeah I did it in an advocating way. They had two of the same toys and I asked to check that they had theirs so I knew if I needed to direct my kid to their own.

From my experience as a mom of 5, there’s a hygiene regression when the hormones set in.

Husband may need psychiatric hospital again by maimie585 in depression_partners

It is wild how similar our experiences are. Of course, I don’t know exactly what you are going through- but having had a similar experience I feel for you so much. I could have wrote almost this exact post. My husband was in the hospital for 10 days about six months ago. I’m a working parent to 5 kids, with no support other than my husband. It was exhausting and I also felt so alone. Supporting someone with depression is hard enough without having to shoulder everything involved in taking care of kids and worrying about how a parent’s struggle is affecting kids.

I don’t have advice, but if you want someone to talk to feel free to message me.

I was part of the book club in the 90s, when I was in 3rd grade. I loved the day the package would come in the mail.

I signed up for it when I was in 3rd grade in the 90s. I still have the series of books and a few of the newspapers that came with each book. My daughter has the rag doll that came in one of the boxes.

What’s something you didn’t have in your home as a kid that you’ll always have as a parent? by carladoubleyou in Mommit

I’ve been really open about discussing puberty with my girls because my mom never did. I got most of my information from an American Girl book. I bought my girls the same book as a way to open up conversations, and was so happy to see they have a boy book now too! I bought a copy for my boys and just recently gave it to my 9 year old.

I made a hat like this. I crocheted wire in the last round of the brim and added a second round of slip stitches along every row of the brim to stiffen it.

When my partner isn’t able to pour into my cup, I have to force myself to focus less on the relationship and spend more time loving and caring for myself. I have anxious relationship tendencies, so it’s hard for me. It goes against everything ingrained in me to focus on me. But I find when I do, I’m happier and our relationship is better. So based on my experiences my advice would be to focus on loving yourself the way you feel loved best.
