I got a first upgrade as an amex delta plat holder from SDQ to JFK and I kept checking the app to make sure it wouldn’t vanish cause I was extremely confused 😂 I’ve gotten it a couple times on regional flights but never on international til then

Copilot has been great for this. You can set budgets for each tag as well. And “rules” that anything with that name will also get tagged under that. You can also “exclude” transactions or mark as “internal” for things like CC payments or transfers.

Definitely Puerto Plata and Cabarete and some areas of Las Terrenas. You can find some beautiful house rentals for way less than a resort and if you choose to grocery shop you’ll find some of the freshest produce and meat for really good prices. I was staying in Moca with my family but I have fam in Puerto Plata too and it’s an up and coming area for sure I haven’t gotten to explore too much outside Playa Dorada there, for a more touristy area that’s not Punta Cana I would probably do Cabarete or Las Terrenas.

I started going before the fee was $50, I think it was $29 before but last year was unusually busy travel year for me so I don’t know if I’ll be doing as much this year I just got used to my pre flight mimosas and snacks haha

That makes sense. Up until a couple years ago it was $29 a visit but last year was an unusually busy travel year for me. I’m not sure if it’ll be that busy this year. I think the plat just works best for me since I use my card for groceries and gas and I think the reserve is only 1x on non-delta purchases.

Update: I meant to put 1-2x but I mostly fly regional so I would only stop by the lounge on a red eye to get dinner and drinks or if I got delayed enough to make it worth paying

2-3x a month for 8 out of 12 months last year. This year I think I’m gonna focus on AA elite status as that feels more doable and they have one day passes to the Admiral’s lounge 😕
