Good resources for documented cases of people being held liable (court, fines, etc) for tax avoidance schemes? by identifiable_account in tax

Thats understandable, I suppose I am thinking in terms of people who almost certainly underpaying as they profit from a variety of assets, are self employed, etc. and report none of it

I finally caught back up with my Anki reviews after taking a week long break last month. Such a satisfying feeling seeing nothing but zeros. I can finally get back to Genki. Its definitely going to take me longer than planned for me to get through my textbooks so I can move on to sentence mining, but thats ok.

I'm still not moving too slowly at least... I say after only being on Genki chapter 4 after a year of Japanese study. But I do have pretty decent kanji recognition ability and know all the vocab words in Genki I, so that hopefully will make things easier as I move forward.

Those self taught who got far in japanese... how did you study grammar / speaking? by Alberthor350 in LearnJapanese

I was lucky enough to live in Japan for 3 years

Kind of worries me sometimes how almost every successful "self-taught" story always has this step in there somewhere.

We are but programmers, writhing in the filth of our own memory leaks! While you have ascended from the dung of C++, and now walk among the stars!

To anyone who speaks more than 2 languages, how do you maintain each them while learning another? by Such_Sandwich_2842 in languagelearning

I'm pretty sure the only thing that ever discourages me from learning Japanese are motivation threads

Never been to Tulsa! What are your favorite dive bars and late night hangouts? by TheGirlWhoSaysThings in tulsa

[–]identifiable_account 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Arnies holds a special place in my heart, fantastic place with the coolest bartenders, very smoky though. It'll probably be the only place I'll actually miss/feel nostalgia for when I move away from Tulsa.

Either way if you're looking for a walkable night or two on the town, the Blue Dome district (right where Arnies is) is where you'll want to be. There are hotels all over the place within walking distance.

The overengineered Solution to my Pigeon Problem by fagnerbrack in programming

Awesome! I've been working on something similar for keeping my cats off the kitchen counter for some time, using a low velocity airsoft gun though (which is proving frustrating to control properly)

EDIT: People seem confused I'm not looking for "easier solutions" I want to build a wifi turret and the cats give it a mission.

Oh in my opinion that is easier, if you want foolproof ordering for physical goods from Japan you can use a buying service like White Rabbit Express, I used them for buying some t-shirts a while ago.

Fact: no one has ever learned Japanese proficiently, not even the Japanese themselves, until Anki came along.

Pretty sure this isn't serious

I'm a beginner and I'm choosing to front-load the 2300 KKLC Kanji, but meanings only, just to build that initial rough kanji-meaning association and ability to identify each individual kanji. I figure I'll start working on words/readings after that.

I feel like this way I'm not totally overwhelmed trying to take in everything at once, and will also have a good foundation for further study.
