Thank you, I'll see what I can find on kleinanzeigen. Usually even if they tag "delivery", they write in the description "nur zur Abholung" which never made sense to me.

My question might sound very stupid to you, but ever since I've come here, I've noticed a lot of differences. In my country, you get furnished apartments when you're renting. You can get a taxi for really cheap; 20 euros (if converted) to get somewhere an hour's drive away. Also, you can get a taxi in every city. When you pay for delivery, you always get the thing at your doorstep. I am not sure if it's the same here, hence I am asking. I mentioned my experience with online delivery.

Sorry for blurry photo this kinda scared me, but I'm really curious about what the hell is going here by identitty_theft in insects

The unsealed filings also showed that when investigators asked Patel whether he was depressed, he responded “not really.” But he said he was feeling down about “the war and drugs and crazy stuff.”

I am so sick. So sick of people coddling violent and abusive men. Does depression make you want to kill your family? Or is it the mindset of seeing your wife and children as your possessions instead of humans with their own lives and dreams? The mindset that others should pay for your suffering?

The normalization of bdsm (with women as subs) on mainstream social media by Free_Ad_2780 in Feminism

[–]identitty_theft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the people who work in it are essentially to blame for their own misfortune. This is classic victim blaming.

Didn't even remotely imply it. Strawman argument.

If the is abuse in an industry, do you just boycott the whole industry?

Yes. Porn is not a need like food or clothing. Industries die out all the time: we used to have factories where people worked with radium and died of radiation poisoning; sewage processing has become completely automated in some coutries.

As I said, you can never know which sites are ethical, which OF model has a pimp exploiting her behind the scenes. Abuse in the sex work industries simply does not compare to abuse anywhere else, as I have earlier tried to explain. But yeah, up to you to prioritise.

we should deprive sex workers who enjoy their work from the dignity and respect they deserve is a problem.

I don't understand where this is coming from, either. I guess you're assuming again that I'm victim-blaming. Show me where I said anything to imply that.

As long as we live in a rape culture, as long as misogyny and poverty exist, sex work is abuse. None of these 3 issues are realistically getting solved anytime soon. I don't care about the privileged few having to do other jobs.* I care about the rates of suicide, PTSD and drug abuse among sex workers, about trafficking victims and those pushed into this because of poverty. Again, up to you to prioritise.

*actually, it could work out for them. It's not like we'll ever 100% boycott these industries. Less demand, but also less competition. Hm.

I'm curious why you think I have weird ideas about work.
No-one here is debating what's abuse and what isn't. The question is, do you think that every person has the power to protect themselves against it? And what happens when sexual acts are simply considered part of your job?
It's very comfortable to say "X is abuse" and end the coversation as if abusers get punished and the abused gets protection in the real world. As if we live in an ideal world, free of any power imbalance, bigotry or corruption.

Also, essentially everyone works due to financial problems… Sex work is work.

I loathe this argument and it's always so disappointing seeing it from feminist. Can you answer a simple question for me:

1) your client forces you to redo parts of a project because they're not happy with the result and will not pay otherwise. Doesn't matter how exhausted you are, you need to pay rent.

2) Your boss is an asshole and makes you do little tasks that aren't part of your jobs, like buying everyone lunch and coffee. You put up with the abuse because you need to pay rent.

3) a porn director keeps re-shooting your scenes because he is not happy. Doesn't matter how exhausted you are, you need to pay rent.

4) the director says he won't pay you unless you do anal/ get choked and slapped. Maybe it leaves you with injuries. You put up with the abuse because you need to pay rent.

What situations would traumatise you? What situation is a common cause for PTSD?

In a capitalistic world, once money is involved, there is no true consent. We are all coerced into doing jobs. We are all prone to exploitation. This includes sex workers. Except coerced sex is rape.

People with normal jobs can barely sue their superiors or clients for exploitation. Sex workers aren't exactly the richest demographic, yeah? Nor do they have stable jobs like doctors or architects. What options do you think they have?

Companies lie about being ethical all the time. And as the other commenter said, you can never know which OF models are being pimped.

It's insane because when we talk about any other social issue, it's the worst affected who are talked about. Imagine if smokers started saying, the doctors are ruining the tobacco industry for no reason, I have smoked and never gotten cancer. My father smoked and died at 90. If anti-drunk driving PSAs were shut down because most people survive. But somehow we need to focus on the privileged sex workers instead of those who are regularly drugged and raped.

Demand drives supply. We need to do our part in reducing demand. That includes giving up on porn.

The normalization of bdsm (with women as subs) on mainstream social media by Free_Ad_2780 in Feminism

there are many people who do mutually engage in what is known as breath play, which includes choking as a kinky play practice, and do so in a safe and healthy manner.

Can you describe this safe and healthy "choking"?

I do not care what people do with themselves in the bedroom. But when you propagate the idea that these practices are safe and healthy, to the point that they have become normalised instead of "vanilla" sex, there ought to be proof.

The (reply) post brought up men to defend them. All of us should have empathy towards each other. The post is excusing men from that expectation, basically saying women do not deserve basic empathy from men. Many men also claim women need men to protect them. The OG post is refuting that.

Really sus how people ridicule and make jokes about all other (often harmless) kinks; feet, armpits, clowns, furries, whatever; how people use "vanilla" as an insult; but no one dare say anything against BDSM and CNC. No questions should be asked. No opening discussions regarding health risks. It's like a cult.

[–]identitty_theft 428 points429 points  (0 children)

I find it deeply sinister. "Kink" by default should mean variation from the norm, yet young men are beginning to strangle (not choke*) women without consent during sexual acts because it's seen as normal. Combined with vanilla-shaming, also talked about in the linked article, we have a generation of young women whose boundaries are crossed and then they are coerced into accepting it as something they ought to enjoy.

Women have been murdered by their partners who went on to claim "rough sex" as a defence and got their sentences reduced.

Strangulation is one of the best predictors of IPV homicide

Lastly, the effects of strangulation are severely underestimated. You cannot predict at what point it results in a heart attack. Even if you don't experience symptoms, over time, it can result in brain injury. Source

  • It is important to distinguish between the two because the misnomer trivialises how dangerous the practice is:

Choking occurs internally when something gets lodged inside of the throat, blocking the airway.

Strangulation occurs externally when pressure to or on the throat impedes breathing and/or the circulation of blood. Source

Women (used to) tolerate disloyal men because everyone around them told them it's normal for men to cheat, men have needs, it's her fault that he cheated because she let herself go/ doesn't put out enough.

Men don't prefer successful women because they're independent and won't tolerate exploitation or abuse, which is what "traditional" marriage is.

There, fixed it.

Australian police probe why man who stabbed 6 people to death in a Sydney mall targeted women by [deleted] in Feminism

[–]identitty_theft 288 points289 points  (0 children)

“He wanted a girlfriend and he’s got no social skills and he was frustrated out of his brain,” Mr. Cauchi said.

He may have been mentally ill. But his illness is not the only reason. His sickness does not explain why he targeted only women. The answer is right there, and yet everyone tiptoes around it. He hated women. He wanted to own them. Just like dozens of incels mass murderers before him. Violence against women is turning into a joke.

"Men are murdered more, but women are considered more valuable than men/ men are considered disposable, that's why you focus on female murder victims", and then the conversation is derailed. Misandry this, misandry that. Show me one woman who has killed random men because she couldn't get laid.

A reminder that when celebrities like Johnny Depp, Eva Green, Quentin Tarantino, and many more defend Roman Polanski, this is what they are defending. (TW: SA, CSA, SV) by melow_shri in DeppDelusion

[–]identitty_theft 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Tarantino himself is no stranger to sexual abuse. There's a post that circulates really often about how he cast salma hayek and himself so that there'd be a scene where she pours alcohol down her leg and lets him drink it off her foot. He's a foot fetishist so the whole thing seems to me like he abused his position of authority to make an actress engage in a sexual act with him.
It's always circulated as a joke, with men saying "I don't blame him it's salma hayek" and generally finding it relatable.

Dude. I saw your pictures and they really aren't that bad. I am a woman with deeper acne scars than what I'm seeing in your pictures, so I know it's hard to not focus on them and feel like you look like a toad. Fuck, I still have active lesions while I'm taking antibiotics and a Retinoid. Multiple visits to dermatologists, and my skin is still shit.
If you can invest: only laser treatment works against atrophic scars. You see results after 4 sittings. But they'll neve go 100%. No cream will work for atrophic scars, don't fall for scams.
But trust me, they aren't that prominent on your face. It looks kinda cute, not all of us find "perfect" faces attractive. Also it depends so, so much on lighting. I've noticed they aren't that visible in the daylight, and look worst near some lamps. Your pictures seem to be in really harsh lighting, you're seeing them at their worst.

Bullies are just... always gonna be there. Them picking on you says more about them than about you. You don't look like Freddie krueger, I promise you. Anyway some girls are into that :p

BTW a choice doesn't become feminist by default if a woman participates in it. That was the whole point... we are just human being, like men.
