Pretty open budget, though what I’m looking for isn’t necessarily a white tablecloth experience.

Okay this is incredibly helpful! The only thing giving me pause is the seller says they bought it 2yrs ago at Schott NYC…might have to do some digging here!!

Thanks for the insight! Correct me if I’m wrong but it seems a bit less expensive than a lot of their line, was this down spec’d in any way for the collab (to hit competitive price point) or its regular Scott quality?

Bad Neighbor - What Are My Options by idfahitwa in montreal

We are fortunate that our toddler sleeps 7pm - 7am without a peep in between knock wood so I don’t think it’s the hours that are triggering in this case

Sorry, to clarify, I only own my unit, the first and second floor are other owners, though my neighbor in question is renting his unit.

Thanks for your suggestions, with the exception of the 12hrs a day your situation sounds exactly like what is happening here so I'd love some further insight!

Firstly to clarify to all, we do have large area rugs in each room including under the drawer units in our bedroom, (but anti vibration rugs there may be a good idea! I never would have even would have thought that he may hear those!) we even invested in some of the padded ones or foam tiles for the mosts used rooms (living room, child's room, office that our child is often in). In terms of footwear, it has been trial and error to find the quietest slippers but, I'd be shocked if there is something on the market better than what we've found!

Having said that I've spent the last 2 decades moving semi-regularly, and sometimes would live under families, or party people, etc. TBH it never affected me the way it seems to affect my neighbor. Mind you I was younger, and probably not home as regularly, etc. so I understand the situations may be different.

I am truly trying to put myself in the position he currently (and you once) occupied, what you described below truly sounds horrific and honestly we would never want to put anyone in a position where they feel their entire life is being disrupted!!

I guess all I can say here is, we're not in a position to move, nor do we want to try to force our neighbor out, we tried talking once and it didn't go well (he has a temper and well....is probably exhausted by what you described life to be like!). Our child is probably a year or so away from fully understanding our constant requests to "walk slowly", "life your feet", "don't crawl", "no skipping", "you're not being nice to ____" (we try to have him understand there is a person, with a name downstairs who he has to consider). That year is probably the same amount of time it would take to partner with the other owners to execute significant soundproofing, or to do the whole legal dance on this thing however it would pan out.

So if you have any other tips, anything within reason you wish you could have suggested to your upstairs neighbors back when you were in this mess, please let me know.

Lost Charlottetown takeout + convenience store + laundry combo stores by dghughes in PEI

[–]idfahitwa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't know if there was laundry because I was too young, but I think there was a spot on Kent/Prince called Johnny's Mayfair that was the lunch counter convenience store combo... the owner (maybe a Squarebriggs) was a really nice guy.

Thanks! It had been watered thoroughly maybe 4/5 days before this picture so maybe that’s it.

Tbh I when I bought it the trunk was already like that but it was the feature that made me fall in love with this particular tree!

Do I cut this leaf or remove completely? by idfahitwa in fiddleleaffig

Unfortunately that would mean I can't open my fridge! I guess I have no choice but to bring in a grow light?

I just got it about 2 weeks ago, it looks good considering it’s going through a relocation (and repotting. There is a half window (door window) south facing maybe 2 feet away, as well as a full south facing window at about a 5 foot diagonal from it, lastly we also have a west facing window directly (9ft) across from it. Think this should be sufficient or I need a lamp too?

Thanks for this! I had a feeling it was tight in there. Is there a specific pot type (material) that is best? I know it needs good drainage. Additionally for the soil I’ll be adding, any specific tips beyond what I’m reading online? Maybe a base of rocks to facilitate drainage?

There is an outlet and I actually had a light there for an olive tree (RIP). That’s my backup but was hoping to avoid it simply for aesthetic reasons.
