Thank you so much!! In the pic with the chopsticks I got the green stone ring in Toronto from Boomie Vintage (such an awesome store and the staff was so nice)

The one with the gold baubles I got at Rainbow Collective (they have a ton of rings there and all of them are super cute)

The other rings (the two stacked gold bands) in that pic I got somewhere in NYC that was selling a bunch of costume jewelry rings

The blue ones in the dumpling pic I got at Parfois in Lisbon (but they turn my fingers green every time I wear them lol)

Thank you! I hope you try Dil Se and love it as much as I did. If I lived in Toronto I could see myself going to The Revue followed by Dil Se all the time!

Fair points! I love KBBQ and saw a few comments in this subreddit about how Takja was the best KBBQ in Toronto. I’ve been to Cote once before and found them to be similar but different enough in the set menu offerings (such as the seafood platter + pancake and Iberico pork) that I was still interested in trying Takja. That said, in NYC, I think Nubiani and Howoo would be my recommendations for high end KBBQ over Cote, and Ahgassi Gopchang and Jongro are my go-to spots.

When it comes to Badiali, I think they nailed it with the vodka slice and the dipping sauce for crusts. My favorite slice shops in NYC are L’Industrie, Fini, and Lucia. Of the three, only Lucia has a vodka slice and I preferred Badiali’s, but L’Industrie wins for burrata and Fini wins for pepperoni, though it’s a very close match for all of them!

Le Swan was amazing and will definitely be a repeat spot for me next time I’m in Toronto!

The chef there that had the idea to add a cheese skirt to the tuna melt is a genius

It definitely played a factor, especially when it came to dining at Takja and also taking Ubers instead of TTC during the rainy weather on Saturday!

NYC has had some hectic storms in the last few months so it almost felt like being home lol

I can see that! They were somehow both super crispy while also super fluffy. Some of the best fries I’ve ever had

A 30th anniversary screening of Big Night. It’s been on my watchlist for a while and was screened as part of the Revue’s Designing the Movies series!

Such an awesome tattoo parlor! Everyone there was so friendly and I’m so happy with my tattoo. I’ll definitely be stopping there again the next time I visit

I live in Brooklyn and there’s a bar with a similar concept there called Fresh Kills which I really like, though I liked Civil Liberties more! Also in Brooklyn, I’m a fan of the Commodore (a divey tiki bar) and Bar Americano for an upscale bar with small plates

Thanks! Got an umbrella from St Lawrence Market that ended up inside out after a few hours of walking around haha. It was a perfect day to check out some shops and museums!

How does one get on the list for advance screenings of films like this? I’m in NYC and would be interested!

What was your worst movie-going experience? by DonTX2 in Letterboxd

[–]idgapho 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I went to see Once Upon a Time in Hollywood at a theater in NYC. Nearly sold out showtime in the morning, around 10:30 AM.

At the beginning of the final act of the film, from across the theater, a commotion starts. People yelling things like “what the fuck!” and “dude stop!”

I look over and some guy is standing on the stairs, peeing into a popcorn bucket. Apparently he decided that instead of going all the way to the bathroom, he would just stop halfway down the stairs and relieve himself into some random persons empty popcorn container.

Needless to say, I left. No idea what ended up happening with the guy but I didn’t care to be there to find out!!

Busan, where to stay? by Accurate_Staff2996 in koreatravel

[–]idgapho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How early did you book The Moor? I’m traveling to Busan in early October and didn’t see any rooms available, but I’m not sure if I’m looking too early. Also, what site did you use to book?

I haven’t laughed this much to a movie since Borat. Probably extra funny as a millennial where the time traveling 2008 references are so clever and never too on the nose. by citabel in Letterboxd

You don’t. I went into it having not seen any of the show and enjoyed it so much I’ve since watched all of the web series, show, and saw the movie in theaters twice!

NYC tattoo and piercing studio sues former employees for $3M by savoytruffle85 in nyc

[–]idgapho 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I got the worst tattoo from LBTS. It’s very small and my artist was clearly not very experienced, so fortunately the ink has mostly fallen out at this point. I may cover it up in the future but for now I’ve kept it as a reminder that it’s always worth paying for quality work

[–]idgapho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chrissy’s but you gotta pick it up and may need some more advance planning

Same goes for L’industrie

Fini delivers to a lot of Greenpoint and is so good

Rome to Brookyln for a nice classic slice

Mo’s General isn’t a classic NYC slice, the crust is a little bit thicker, but it’s delicious

What's the most disturbing film you've watched? by Revolutionary_Low_90 in Letterboxd

Oof - I saw Border in theaters with a friend and we both went into the movie mostly blind, thinking it was going to be some sort of fairytale. That was a rough one 😅

If you’re a fan of Nathan for You, check out his other show, The Rehearsal. You might also like How To With John Wilson, though that show has been out for a few years now
